Amazon Starswars DVD delivery
I just checked my order for the Starwars DVD set on Amazon.co.uk, and the delivery estimate is now Sept 21st, not Sept 20 as originally stated. I need to have a day off work for when it comes so I can be there to answer the door etc.
Has anyone elses Amazon orders had their dates changed?

I preordered in July and they guaranteed it then ok. I did the promo-code thing and everything. It used to say 20th but recently it has switched to 21st.

You need to take a day off work?? Just to receive the package. Thats a bit extreme isn't it. Can't you just collect it from the post office later?

Is'nt taking the day off work a little extreme for a dvd. , I mean its a dvd I know its Star Wars and all but i dont see the difference a day or two is gonna make, its not like the boxsets gonna be going anywhere is.
I mean sure I'am excited and looking forward to getting the boxset after all the build up, reviews and postive feedback but i would'nt take a day of work for some like a few dvds.
I can Imagine telling my friends/collegues at work:
Collegue: " So why wer'nt you in work yesterday??"
Me: "Well i was expecting a dvd through the post and I wanted to be there to collect it off the postman and have time to watch it"
Collegue:" You Took the day of work for a dvd!!"
Me: "Yes"
College: " Was it made out of gold or something"
Me: "Nope just a plain old dvd"
College: "And you took the day of work for that??
Both walk away.
Just my "Own" thoughts.

Or if you *didn't* take the day off work...
Colleague : Hey John, I can't help but notice you look like sh!t... it's only 10.00 AM and already you've spilt coffee on your keyboard, set fire to the artificial plant and stapled your hand to last month's sales reports... what's the deal mate?
Me : Uhh... I got the new Star Wars DVD boxset in the post yesterday and stayed up all night to watch it.
Colleague : Hmmm... probably should've booked the day off work, eh?
Me : zzzzzzzz....
LOL So that's why I'VE booked the day off work
Seriously though, if the previous poster works office hours, then he'd probably have to wait till the following Saturday morning to pick up the DVD's from the Post Office (after they unsuccessfully attempted delivery), so I can understand 'where he's coming from'
Cheers,
J.B.

I got an email from Amazon last night, and they have said mine was shipped on Sept 13th. Although in the status page on my account, it still says "Dispatching soon".
As for taking the day off work, well I wanted to have a day off work to break the month up a bit, so I thought the day that Starwars comes out would be perfect. I'll be having a day off on October 1st so I can play Outrun2 when it comes out too. Its one of the my favourite racers ever in the arcades, and its finally coming home. And maybe another day off for Halo 2 too. I am sure some people on here understand..
Marv, I work in the videogames industry, and we are all into sci-fi and videogames etc, so taking a day off to watch a big boxset, or play a videogame that has just come out is the done thing
Thanks for the Amazon info people..

Amazon seem to be processing these orders in a really weird order, I ordered April 5th and noticed from various forums that people who ordered much later than me had their orders processing ahead of mine (my order started processing Monday (13th)). Still haven't had a dispatch e-mail.
I'm taking the Monday off too, I have some days to use up and my girlfriend doesn't; as she's not much of a fan of the films, taking the day off means that I get the opportunity to watch them soon after receiving them, plus it means not having to go to the sorting office (which is quite far away from my flat), the day after to pick it up.

i noticed that too i ordered mine as soon as it came on the amazon site in march and my status still hadnot changed, so i ordered from enterprise dvd on monday and i should get my set today and i cancelled th amazon one which i was still able to do as they hadnt started processing it yet, where as peple who ordered it much later couldnt cancel as they had started processing it, what happened to "first come first served"
my box set just arrived top marks to enterprise dvd
