Ordering from amazon.co.jp
Can anyone tell me if when I order from amazon.co.jp when I get to the shipping stage, is a small amount taken from the final balance? ie taxes?

I think when you get to the checkout section, some money gets knocked off because its going to the UK? I may be wrong though?
What I would like to know is how do you order from there, as I don't speak Japanese? Any help would be appreciated?

You can use cdjapan to get the dvd code and enter this onto the amazon site, once you go to your account you can then opt to have this displayed in english.

I'm using a Mac?
I've read on this site that orders over £18 ordered from amazon don't get caught by Customs? Is this true & if true, how?

I have ordered kill bill boxsets for friends and they have been hit by customs...whereas I use amazon all the time and order big orders.. which to this day have never been hit.. so really its pot luck..(though my large orders seem to be reshipped from germany so hence I guess the lack of charges.)
My latest order has just shipped so we shall see. also I always use the slow shipping. If you use the express then I think you are pretty much guaranteed the charges as they use dhl I think.

I ordered Ghostbusters tonight Two questions.
1. The postage is bloody expensive, even for the economy, 900 Yen?
2. How the hell do you sign out of the site, like you can do on the .com & .co.uk sites?

I've never ordered anything from them so I can't really comment although I doubt it.
I do know that if you go with the cheaper postal option with yes Asia they pay the tax duties for you!
One thing's for certain postage and packing from most of these places selling Japanese DVDs is pretty expensive! Whatever you do don't use HMV Japan because you almost pay as much as the DVD as they use a courior
