But no Flares in Sight

Oi you! Listen up, there's a new trailer for director Nick Love's The Sweeney (2012), starring the almost inevitable Ray Winstone, Hayley Atwell, and Damian Lewis. The film is set to open in cinemas here on September 12th.

For those that weren't around during the 70's, the movie is based on the classic television series. Ray Winstone and pop star Plan B (aka Ben Drew) star as Regan and Carter but the film will be set in the present day which is a bit of a shame as we were looking forward to seeing some quality 'flares' and garish knitwear.

A Blu-ray of The Sweeney - The Complete First Series is expected for a late September release.

This looks awful to me.

However, the blu-ray of season one of The Sweeney is most welcome.
