Issues aside, that is very tempting having Gladiator in the offer.

Don't forget people that there is the £5 voucher off voucher if you spend £50 & like me just buy some MP3 tracks to beef it up if need be to £50, I think it's the cheapest items they have.

The code to use at checkout it: PLANW09 (Expires 6/12/09)

Re: Play.com - 2 for 18 - Green Mile, Payback, Contact and More

I could only find 3 but when I added Magnolia (prebook -very exciting to see this in HD) it still went through @£9 as you can see:

Maybe it was just the mix of stuff. They took the £5 off my DVDRs. I'll be testing Gladiator to see the transfer quality and if it's crap it'll be going back sharpish.

Cool.

I hope this is still avaliable at the end of the month, I've spent a fortune this month and can't afford anymore and Gladiator & The Green Mile for £18 is a steal. There's a few others i want as well for xmas presents.

Just tried this code on an over £50 spend and came up ' voucher code expired'.
It may be that it as I have used this code before ( a few days ago), it will only let you use it once?

These kind of deals always do that for some reason. In their 2 for £20, everything went to £10 even if there is a odd number of discs.

The Gladiator BD is still better than DVD even though it should be much better.

Not without sending the order back to them. It is just the way it is. I ordered Red Cliff for £17 and less than week later it was £9.99 and now £8.99.

Did they?
Pity, shows you how much I value Quidco affiliates since I bought my HD DVD player and got a nice refund as the prices were crashing

gamer is one of the worst films you can see. completely unfunny, you can't properly see what's going on in the action sequences cos the editing is so haphazard and too fast, and it manages to be fast-paced and boring at the same time!

the same people were involved with crank and crank 2, which are excellent trash movies. the hyperkinetic action scenes are much better done by paul greengrass. gamer is what happens when you do it too fast and things go badly wrong.

You do realize it's not an action film, but a spoof of online gaming and societies?

are you kidding me? you think that this film is trying to make any serious points? if its a spoof, its not witty or funny in the slightest. its got an awful lot of action in it for it not to be considered an action film. but during the action scenes, just like in transformers, you're so close to the action and its so frenetic that you can't clearly make out what on earth is going on.

i love my hyperkinetic action scenes a la bourne in the hands of paul greengrass, who will show you very rapidly cut sequences just fast enough for your brain to register what's going on. its really quite skilful when done correctly and makes you feel like you're in the middle of the scene. but if you do it wrong, you get movies like gamer. one of the worst scenes is when they enter the night club, and there's so many flashing lights and ridiculous colours, with shooting and fighting going on, you just can't see what's happening. awful.

I've read these "It's a satire, you clearly don't get it" defences of Gamer far too much recently. It's a terrible film, it's not a clever satire, it's not a good action film, it's just bad!
