Quidco payments

Sorry if this is the wrong section I thought I would ask this here as it seems to get mentioned enough

I have a question regarding Quidco payments, I started using Quidco about a year ago and have accrued about £50+ in the account, but the payments I actually get back are hardly worth the effort of signing in each time I make a purchase

My last payment IIRC was about 67p and since then have come to the conclusion that it is no-longer worth it for the amount I actually purchase

So my question being, what sort of payments are you getting back and is it worth the effort for you ?

Re: Quidco payments

Definately worth the effort, I love Quidco.

I do agree that sometimes the amount back don't seem right but the customer service on Quidco is amazing. If you don't think it's right, just ask. The other day on my Inglorious Bastards pre-order from Tesco the amount I got was 19p, which wasn't 8%. Emailed them, and before the end of the day I'd had the further 61p credited. Fantastic.

I know what you mean also about it being depressing seeing amounts when they are in pence but it just depends what you buy. For example I renewed my housing and contents insurance using Quidco. I got £75 cashback which basically made the policy about £20 for the year, can't grumble at that.

At the end of the day the way I look at it is that I am spending that money anyway, even if I'm only getting back 50p I'm still getting back 50p that I wouldn't have had otherwise.

Re: Quidco payments

i think it's worth it with some vendors more than others. I've about given up trying to use it with eBay for instance because it never tracks, and eBay won't let you raise enquiries unless it's a large amount

But i used it with 5 pre-orders from tesco this past week, which has given me about £8 in my quidco account, plus each pre order should give me £5 in clubcard points in Feb so that's about £6 off each blu-ray

It definitely seems better for things like buing a new mobile, getting home/car insurance or changing gas/electricity providers but i don't really have much call for doing those things so i've not made a huge amount, but i have a friend who's made over £500!

Re: Quidco payments

I've only got £6 ish in my account, but I use it because its free money, albeit a VERY small ammount!

Current Mrs Travid has only just found out about it, so the internet shopping will be via Quidco this year

Re: Quidco payments

I think it's great since using it I had over £300 back.
The only thing is you have to have £30 in your account before they will send you the money.

They only charge you £5 a year for the service.

That's simply not true. You can set your account to pay back when a certain amount is reached or as soon as cashback is paid (which is the setting I use) so I get a drip feed of cash ranging from a few pence up to tens of pounds each month. In the past two years I've had a few pence short of £300 back less two £5 fees. My best one yet was a Goldfish credit card that gave me £45 for signing up - no fee and cancelled the card after 6 months without using it

To answer the OP's question though - of course it's worth it! For one or two extra clicks I get a discount on most things I buy - yes it might only be a few pence on some items but it's a few pence to me. Over time it adds up and it really isn't any extra work. Why wouldn't you want to save money? Is it really that much effort to go to another website on the way to making a purchase?

Re: Quidco payments

Yuop it is worth it, times 100000

It takes what? 5 seconds to click quido and a link to the site you are about to buy from anyway, you basically get paid to do that!

What is not to love.

I would say anyone who does not do it, obviously has the best highest paying job going and should be so well off they do not need Quidco anyway

For us mortals even saving a few % is quality, as it is more cash in your pocket.

Just the 8p worth of Highstreet Web daily clicks every day alone gets me nearly £30 a year alone, for about 4 seconds button pressing a day when my browser boots up Quidco clock page as my homepage

Again whats not to love

It's not that I don't think it isn't a good idea, I am just not impressed with their occasional minimal payments

Although some above have quite considerable amounts being paid in, so it's probably that I just don't spend enough online

Re: Quidco payments

Just renewed the house insurance. Cheapest with all the extra covers such as accidental, no claim protection etc was Aviva at £185. Going through quidco I also get £70 cashback!

All my insurance I do through quidco now. That is a couple of hundred per year straight away in cashback.

The only thing to check with Quidco and insurance is the price is sometimes higher going through quidco.

Eg last year I checked my car insurance at a number of scrapper websites, and it was £345, through quidco it was 385 for the same policy. So even with the cash back it was about the same price. I then phoned up and got another 20 quid off anyway by doing it direct.

There are some cracking deals though, largest i've had was £125 for home insurance 2 years ago, i've also did a hotel in rome for 5 days through hotels.com i think it was so got 80 quid back off that. And also got about 100 quid back of a holiday in the maldives with hayes and jarvis. My GF used to travel around alot selling for work, which included nights in hotels all over the place, she got a load back using laterooms for all her work bookings.

Where you got this from I do not know. Total rubbish. You can have any amount paid each month. I personally set payments at £10 minimum, though rarely are my monthly received amounts less than this.

Dude, you have FAR too much money and a crap browser.

I've never signed into Quidco for 2 years. You can set things up very easily so it's a single button press.

£367. That's how much I got last year. Some of that is 1 or 2 signups for ADSL but in the main it's all my normal yearly shopping.

If it were a lot of bother I'd not do it. If I were a millionaire I'd still use Quidco. Maybe I'm tight but it's genuinely free cash. Or at least free cashback.

I was in my cousin's house yesterday to sign for a parcel. Had a pee and ....there was no soap. He doesn't buy soap. OK, that's fine. Quidco is the same you either want to use it or you don't

All those crap 67p payments you don't want please send them to my PayPal immediately. Thanks.

It's better now on Vista, as you say it remembers.

I have started using it again since I started this thread and have gained about £20 since, although I have only recieved 64p so far but the rest has validated

Quidco is fantastic.

I'm an idiot for not signing up sooner.

Best earnings so far £25 from dell for a pc.

£47.50 from 3 for my mobile contract.

Also going to take out a home insurance policy which I beleive pays £65.

Just earned 4p from a memory stick too.

The way I see it is it all mounts up. That 4p is better in my pocket than theirs.

As a new member, that kind of reply and tone is not welcome here.

People post incorrect information all the time, but a simple courteous post or link to the correct information normally will do.

I wish I'd discovered Quidco years ago. I now use it without thinking - minimal effort = free money

Best one since I joined up in November was £23 for buying a new Mac that I'd already got 20% discount on. Am about to move house, so am about to score big time with insurance/broadband cashback etc

I thought it was £30 they must have changed it.
My advice wasn't "Total rubbish"

In the last 2 years my husband has made £887.35 cashback mainly through Car Insurance,Life and Home insurance plus has a payment of £112.14 coming soon.

I have made only £236.11 but the husband does most of the buying anyway.
