According to THIS post over at GBFans the Ecto-1 Model car has been over sold and looks like to sell out everywhere if it already has not.

In fact the 1:18 scale seems not to appear on the Play.com site at all any more, just the 1:43 scale model left there.

I'm not sure how much it would come to after shipping and customs, but Big Bad Toy Store in the USA have it in stock and are shipping now for $115 (£73).

Here is something I have noticed recently about my 1:18 scale Ecto-1.

I had mine placed on some cardboard and I have just noticed some marks on the card, it looks like oils used in the Ecto-1 wheels has leaked out a bit and marked the cardboard it is placed on leaving marks on the card where the tyres touched it.

Thought I would warn others just so they don't mark anything valuable the car is placed on.

Ghost Trap is well cool, only used mine a few times and then put it on display, the PKE Meter is also a must if you can still find one.

I took a picture to show what I mean.

Congratualations on finally bagging one, it is amazing is it not, have you seen the preview pictures of the Ecto-1A featured in Ghostbusters 2? Well Mattel have shown it at the latest toy fair, it's not finished, so will probably be released same time next year.

I have, looks great. May go for the model kit of the 1A though (1:25 scale)

I see that a few GB fans are going for the 1:25 scale Kit version, but I think many are going for that to customise it with lights and sound. I am going to go for the Mattel version again, mainly for the great detail, but also I think it is the first time that the same manufacturer has released both models, also they will look great next to each other in the same scale.

I have uploaded a video of my current collection featuring some of my Ghostbusters items.

I also remember the problem with the Hot Toys DX02 Dark Knight figure which rubber suit leaked oil.

Just managed to snap off the tiny aerial on the hood, have glued it back on and it's not too noticeable thankfully!

Trap has just arrived too!

Make sure you check your Trap properly, there were a few with problems with the doors not opening properly and making a grinding noise.

Also they recommend you use 4x brand new AA batteries, instead of rechargables.

Mine worked fine with some fully charged HQ rechargable batteries.

It's also not recommeneded to mix batteries (old & new).

Also make sure you fully push in the hoses to make full contact or it might not work.

Good Luck and Enjoy.

I hear there is a bit of a big price hike over the Ecto-1 original price, maybe even up to £50 more.

Also some fans have pointed out that there are a few errors on the pics posted on the Hotwheels site, but it does say that the images are not the final design.

I also hear that on this model it should light up.

Gave up on my Ghostbusters collecting otherwise I'd be looking at getting this, have now sold off most of my Minimates, Mattel figures, and have just sold my Neca figures. Just a few Minimates and Ecto to go now

Yeah, after spending the last couple of years collecting the Matty figures, they weren't doing anything for me anymore and it was compounded by Mattel finishing the line without producing some of the most wanted characters, once I had decided to sell them it confirmed for me that I should be concentrating my collecting at 1:6 scale. Sold my Trap Prop too (forgot to put that in my post above). Packed up the Neca figures today to be collected by City-Link tomorrow.

Anyone know of any retailers listing the Ecto 1a for preorder?

Only one I've seen in the Uk is Modelzone

I wouldn't worry to much right now I don't think it's out for a while. The closer to release date more retailers will list it. I would keep an eye on Play.com they were cheaper than the retailer you mentioned for the Ecto-1.

Good price. Does he have any more 1:18's and did you ask him to mark it low?
