Have you bought a model and thought 'that just looks tosh'

I am posting this, as I bought The Comedian of Fleabay for 40quid, as bit of an impulse.

Watchmen Movie: The Comedian 1:6 Scale Deluxe Collector Figure - Raving Toy Maniac - The Latest News and Pictures from the World of Toys

Looked good on screen, the pics on line look good.

When I got it, was absolute rubbish. He cannot hold his guns, it comes with hands that should be able to hold them, but don't.

The overall figure is poorly made and looks like an Action Man, but just not as good.

The only redeeming feature really is the detailing is very good.

So anyway, do you have any figures you have bought, and when you have got them thought 'this is terrible'?

wow 40 quid for that thing?

Play.com kept reducing him till he got to about 14.99, and still nobody bought it lol. Mind you, I was tempted, but as soon as I heard Hottoys announce their figure, I wasn't anymore.

i dunno, quite a few always look good in the promo shots and in crappy house conditions and lighting they look a bit cheap and nasty.
i used to buy bowen busts but thought they ended up looking worse and worse so stopped.
some sideshow stuff, hot toys, all depends really.

Yea, I have.

One of them stupid Comedian figures

I was new to the game and it was cheap so I thought I'd give it a go.

It went to a good home actually. A nephew visited and had never seen anything like a Combat Endo, or a Bowen Hulk or Sauron etc. He was gobsmacked when he saw the collection. So, we gave him the Comedian figure.

Kid was stoked and loved it, but he's only 4 and knows no better

I got the comedian in play's sale for £29.99,
and I think it's quite a good figure at that price.
not worth it's original £89.99 though.

Most of the DC Direct stuff is really crap, I would'nt touch them - take a look at the DC Direct website at the Wonder Woman (the latest 1/6th) figure - it looks like Barbie dressed up as Wonder Woman, horrible.

The only figures even worth considering in this range is Green Lantern and Sinestro - the rest are like dogs with fleas - AVOID!

Have been disappointed quite a few times over the years for various reasons but Sideshow's 12" Indiana Jones stands out for me as it managed to put me clean off 12" figures as I haven't ordered one from any manufacturer since

And another thumbs down for dc direct here as I would very rarely purchase any of their stuff anymore with some of their mini-busts and the odd statue looking just ok (and some are crap) but any of their 1/6 scale figure's I've seen look

Don't throw fresh fruit at me,(because nothing says 'outrage' like fresh fruit), but I have days where I look at my Takara Batman and think 'That's crap'. You can't pose him properly because of the suit, he's too skinny AND he has those stupid feet. I have him up on an end shelf, his cape,(that gloriously HUGE cape), covering most of his flaws and sometimes he'll catch my eye and I'll think 'That's cool', but more often than not, he annoys me.

I would sell him, but there's a small tear in the costume,(thankfully underneath one of the gauntlets, so it can't really be seen at all), that I repaired, so would never get what I paid for him anyway. Blast!

I nearly did, was looking forward to the Don Corleone bust from sideshow but when I finally saw pictures is looked like he'd had a bath in wax.
