Hot toys Tumbler dilemma

Hi all,

I bought the Hot toys Tumbler from play and used the 5% code so ended up costing £285.
When I received it everything looked fine but yesterday when I was setting it up for display I noticed that on top of the roof (the bit that slides back) there are two inprints that I think were caused by the polystyrene being pressed to hard against the roof. I tried to clean it off but it wont go!

I rang Play and they said they would give me my money back but cant replace it as they no longer have stock and dont expect to get any. I have looked everywhere to see if I could get it for around the same price but it looks very unlikely now!!!

So I dont know if I should still send it back for a refund or keep and ignore the slight inprint Its not that noticable but if I every sold it on I think it may affect the price

Any suggestions????

cheers
Dom

Re: Hot toys Tumbler dilemma

some money or a voucher would ease the pain unless it's something you cant live with. in that case, send it back.
is it just cosmetic as in a stain type mark or it's actually dented the plastic and changed the shape?

Re: Hot toys Tumbler dilemma

Its cosmetic, you can only see it when you go very close. There is no damage as such just the inprint. Just wish I had noticed it before Play ran out of stock!!!

Re: Hot toys Tumbler dilemma

Sorry to hear that, I always make a point of inspecting pieces as soon as they arrive just incase I store it for a while, then open it to find damage. If it's not that bad I would ask for some discount on it.

hi mate

I got mine off Play and my Tumbler was exactly the same, 2 marks on top of the roof of the vehicle.I didn't attempt to rub them off as i didn't want to cause any abrasions to it. This may be a common fault with all of them, would be interesting to hear if anyone else has had the same issue? It might be a bad batch, let me know if you get any joy with a refund/voucher and i may chance my arm if you get some joy.The marks did bug me initially, looks like the polystyrene has " leaked'" on the roof.Having said that, i know for a fact that there aren't many in the country, so would be hard to find a replacement for the same money we paid Play.

Re: Hot toys Tumbler dilemma

that's why i was asking if it was a stain as it's a common enough thing apparently, which isn't good. some people have cleared it up i think. there's much talk of it on the sideshow forum thread for the tumbler.

Re: Hot toys Tumbler dilemma

sounds like it may just be one of those things, which isn't good enough for an item that price, if you're problem is the same as others have been having. you could get over it or return it, if you do get another one from them or further down the road it could have the same problem.
if you can live with it i'd try and get something out of play and try not to look at that bit of the tumbler again. hope you get it sorted either way.

Re: Hot toys Tumbler dilemma

Hi folks. I got my Tumbler from Asia on the day of release, and it too has marks on the roof where the packaging was pressing against it. It bothered me at first. Actually it drove me stupid mad.But after a few days i realised that i couldn't change it, so now i just accept it. I realise now that its not bad at all, and can only be seen at certain angles. Other people have seen the Tumbler and none have noticed the 'rub marks'. One of my mates said i should consider myself luckily to have one in the first place, and i guess he's right. I actually don't know anybody else that owns one. Years ago i went mental if a model i bought had any blemish but with time comes an understanding that some models will and do have slight imperfections, some more noticeable than other. If it bothers you that much then get rid of it, before it destroys you!!!!!!!!

Re: Hot toys Tumbler dilemma

I think Im going to keep it, but im going to try and get some discount codes from play or a few quid refunded. I doubt they will but you never know!

Just glad it is only very minor, the fact that other people have the same problem make me think even if it was returned and they got me another It may well be the same or worse.

Like KJ23 said for the money is should be perfect!

Re: Hot toys Tumbler dilemma

Update:

Just got a email back from Play who have kindly refunded me 10% of the price, so with the RAC 5% and this 10% its only cost £255.

I think I can live with the marks now, especially now with the price of this thing shooting up so much!!

Hope anyone else who bought from play has the same luck.

Cheers
Dom
