Exclamation Hot Toys Tumbler

Does anybody have this and if so what do you think of it
I was thinking about getting it and getting the original Hot Toys Batman 1/6 scale figure to go with it (and the wife approves)

LOL......my wife is an only child, and she knows I am a child at heart....she really likes "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" so I mentioned it and she said yes...so I if I can get hold of the Hot Toys original Batman to go with it I will order it

Havn't got this but even though im a huge bat fan its way overpriced! Would be a great collectors item though!

Ive got the smaller, official die cast model which I managed to get from an Amazon sale about a year ago for a bargain £30!

FP claimed to have these in stock but it now says due in august, I'm wondering whether or not they actually did have them as these seem to have been taking ages to actually get released.

It is coming in from DC direct on August 6th and mine will be in the shop the next day- There won't be many to be had unfortunately so if you want one, bang in your order and hope for the best- i suspect that all available ones have already been pre-ordered though.

Re: Hot Toys Tumbler

Hi folks. I got this beast of a model from Asia about 3 weeks ago, from a great company on e-bay called Studiosunny. It cost about 410euro delivered to me here in Ireland. Studiosunny knocked about $40 off the shipping cost ( originally about $95) because i buy a lot of Hot Toys models from them. They marked the model as a gift valued at $50, and i had to pay no customs!!! They make this kind of mistake quite often, if you get my meaning! The car is very big, and quite heavy. It looks great with batman sitting in the seat, and the canopy open ( or the roof of the car, or whatever you call it). Now the bad news. Please keep in mind im a collector who is very fussy about quality. When closing the canopy you must be very careful to align it right as on each side there is a part protuding that slips into holes. The canopy of the car is made of very thin plastic, in my opinion too thin compared to the rest of the car. The canopy can get scratched very easily, and so can the windows when the protective plastic is removed from them. Again, keep in mind that i am very fussy about these things. The wheels of the car come covered in plastic, but when this is removed, the wheels are a magnet for dirt. To be honest this model is for display only, and even though fairly hardy, its definately not a play thing. I have mine returned to its box ( which is a work of art in itself ), as the little woman was sick of it and batman taking up the whole couch in the sitting room! Yes, its that big!! Overall im happy with the piece but just a bit puzzled as to why the car canopy was made of what seems to be very cheap and flimsy plastic. Sorry for the long winded post. Cheers.

Re: Hot Toys Tumbler

Hi folks. Does anybody have any good ideas on how to pose thses models to get a better photo? I was thinking of getting a white sheet and covering my couch, and then displaying the models on top of this. I must experiment more!!! As for the build quality, overall its very good. Im delighted that i own this model, and although it cost a lot of money, when you actually open up the box for the first time, believe me when i say your jaw will hit the floor! There is even arrows on the foam packaging pointing to the areas on the car that you hold when you are lifting the model out of its case!! As for the canopy/top of the car that opens, remember i said i was a bit fussy when it comes to quality. I am happy with the canopy, but i just thought a tiny bit more effort should have gone into making it feel a bit sturdier than it is. To 99% of people out there, the canopy will be just fine, so dont really worry about it. I cannot strees, and pictures cannot convay just how big this car is. You will definately need a large area to display this beast, but with a Hot Toys batman figure beside or even in the car itself, this model will become the centrepiece of anybodys collection. I think myself this model will rise in price over the next 12-24 months, and eventually go the way the Hot Toys Aliens Hicks figure went, rare and bloody expensive! If you like Batman, then you will love and even marry the Tumbler!! My advise, go get one now if you can afford it, because tomorrow will come and bring with it less stock of this wondelful piece. Any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I delighted to help.

Re: Hot Toys Tumbler

Typical of me. I left something out. There are lights on the car that light up blue when turned on. For lights of this size they are very powerful. I tried mine in the sitting room at night with the blinds closed and the car lit up the place like Xmas!!! My friend who also collects models couldn't get over how strong they were. To a common pleb like me they look awesome. The detailing on the body of the car is very good as well, not too cluttered but still has loads to look at and touch/poke at!! You can fit 2 12inch figures in the car with no hassle at all. The driving seat moves forward and back to allow you place figures in without much hassle. You can actually see the wiring for the lights in the back of the car behind where the figures sit and you must be careful not to touch these in case you damage them. How can you own a Tumbler without working lights!!!!???? Again i have to say that this is one of the best models i have ever bought, and can't see anything beating this for a long time for sheer awesomeness ( is that a word? )!!!!! Thanks for reading another long winded post from me. Cheers, and don't forget, life is too short , go enjoy yourself.

I was looking at the cost to get a perspex display case acrylicdisplaycases.co.uk for this and would cost almost as much as the Tumbler.... around £280 but it would be big enough for the Tumbler and the Batman figure.....but I think it would be well worth it as the Tumbler is an investment

Re: Hot Toys Tumbler

I get all my display cases from a German company, www.Sorashowcases.com and find them very good on delivery and prices. For my Batman Tumbler i priced a display case with a base and reflective back on the case for about £140 delivered to Ireland. You give them the dimensions of the case you want, wheather you want a reflective back or not, wheather you want a light on the display case, and wheather you want a base on the case or not. Of course the base is not fixed to the display case. You enter all this information on their site, and you get a price straight away plus the shipping charge. Keep in mind that you assemble the case yourself when it arrives flat packed. Tiny screws hold the whole thing in place very firmly. Try their site and see what you think for yourself.

Re: Hot Toys Tumbler

great pics but i think that i am going to get the batpod, its smaller and its gonna look alot better with my dark knight 1/6 on as well, if i got the tumbler i wouldnt know what the hell to do with it !!! its far too big and you are limited as to what you can do with it.plus the fact its double the price of the batpod which is far too much but that would make it a collectors piece as so few people may buy it

Re: Hot Toys Tumbler

Yes, thats a very good point. The batpod is far easier to display as its only 1/3 the width of the tumbler, but its just as long. The batpod is perfect for any wall shelf etc.. To be really honest i think that both the batpod and the tumbler will become much harder to find in the next 12-24 months, and without a doubt both are definitely going to become collectors items that will be highly sought after. Anybody that has either or both should look after the boxes as well. Just think of all the upcoming model collectors in the next few years that will look back at our time and cry for these Hot Toys collectibles! Just imagine what their prices will be like in 3-5 years time. I bet you will have to take out a second mortgage just to get the batpod or tumbler. Even now they cost an arm and a leg, and fair play to anybody that can afford them in our present time of recession. But as anybody who does have either of these fine models will tell you, just 1 look at them on display gives a great feeling of pride, pride in owning something as awesome and as exciting as the best that model makers can give us. It will be quite some time before these babies will ever be topped.

Re: Hot Toys Tumbler

This is a great looking piece. What does it look like on display quality wise, what I mean is does it look like a large toy and made from plastic or like a proper quality scaled version of the real thing more like a museum piece.

Re: Hot Toys Tumbler

In my opinion,it looks like a museum piece as the detail is stupendous-i compared it to the schematics of the vehicle i have in books and every detail is spot on,including the dials near the tail pipe.Although the build quality is supeb, there are parts that are fragile. Its worth every penny IMO,and from a speculator point of view, will go up in value in a year or two
