Rossi was a lucky boy in the first corner.
His 'do or die' move could easily have resulted in a collision.

As could Simoncelli's etc etc.

It's a very dangerous sport,as you know, and not without it's share of barging around, and I think he simply took the chance that was there, and seems to have generated no complaints, unlike Dovi's complaints.

Still looking like a good season esp if you ride a Honda....

What was depressing was the manufacturers leader board at the end - 3 teams?

I know Suzuki had hard luck losing their rider but that is the chance you take with only one bike on the grid.

That's MotoGP's own fault.
Going to 800s ruled out BMW, Aprilia and Petronas, all of whom were well along the route of building engines with a view to coming into 1000cc MotoGP racing.
They changed to WSB instead.
Once MotoGP gets back to 1000cc, I think you'll see BMW/Aprilia entering.

This is why we're not going to a MotoGP this year.
It's a transition year with poor grids.
We're thinking of WSB in Portamao instead.
A 3-day grandstand ticket...............................43 euros!!!!
LOL!!

I see Brno is in danger of losing MotoGP.
Record losses of 3.5million Euros in 2010.
What a bloody shame that would be, it's by far the best value MotoGP trip you can do in Europe (precisely because they don't use Euros....)

Dear Mr KiLLiNG-TiME

Reference CAS-667914-8X6SJG

Thank you for contacting us regarding ‘Moto GP’ on 20th March.

We understand that you are unhappy because the coverage was not broadcast in HD.

At the end of last season, we undertook a trial to provide ‘MotoGP’ in High Definition, which was positively received. Unfortunately, due to budget restrictions ‘MotoGP’ will not be available in HD this year, at least at the start. However, there is the possibility it will be reviewed before the end of the season.

We recognise your frustration and annoyance especially in light of the provisions made by other broadcasters and as such we can assure you that we have registered your comments on our audience log.

This is a daily report of audience feedback that's made available to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, channel controllers and other senior managers. The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.

Thanks for taking the time to contact us.

Kind Regards

BBC Complaints

TBH I'd sacrifice HD on BBC and even watch it an hour later not live for the far superior commentary on Eurosport. Plus apart from the MotoGP being an hour delayed everything else is live.

Now if Eurosport go HD then I'd be there, but MotoGP coverage on Eurosport is UK only and not elsewhere in Europe so that seems unlikely at the moment.

I find myself getting exasperated by Eurosport's commentators.
Joooweean Wyder and Toby Moody do my head in a bit, as neither of them have ridden a bike to any degree of success.
Your average track day rider has more idea than they have.
So they often talk rubbish, or miss things altogether.

Then you get the WSB mix of Whitham and Barnicle Bill.
Whitham's brilliant, nothing but respect for him, and he's funny.
Barnicle is just a big bag of mistakes with a mouth.

The BBC is another mixed bag.
I mean, who the hell is Charlie Cox and why is he commentating on bikes??

Incidentally, with regard to Toby Moody.
Has anyone been watching "Best Battles Bikes" on Eurosport?
His breathing!?!?!?!
What the hell is his problem!?!?!?!
It's like he's on a wrongly calibrated iron lung.
Half way through a (BREATH) sentence and then some (BREATH) times halfway thr(BREATH)ough a word.
The guy needs coaching on how to breathe and speak at the same time!?!?!?

All the time, Joooweeean Wyder sits next to him with his arm arranged in a way that's intended to hide the fact his Alpinestars shirt is absolutely dying to burst open.

I'd love Mackenzie to get more involved with MotoGP commentating, now that he'll be going to most/all rounds with his son (in the 125's).

It certainly was...!

I don't think anyone was sure of the result until the cooling down lap.

What was Vale thinking?! I thought a man of his experience would have followed the two in front for a few laps before making his move. He was clearly quicker than them and there were 20 laps to go. That was Rossi's win for the taking today. It looks like we'll have to wait longer for his first win on a Ducati.

What about Stacey Moner's comment to The Doctor when he went to apologise "Your ambition outweighs your talent." Maybe you can say that when you've won nine titles and then maybe the marshals will acknowledge you when you're on the floor.

That was indeed a crazy race.

In the interview with Stoner at the beginning I turned to my wife and said that Stoner seemed to have lost that chip on his shoulder and seemed more settled and grown up - How wrong was I?

The comedy for me is how many times did Stoner have the Ducati do exactly the same thing to him in the past two years?

I thought I saw he throw a gesture when he got off the track and thought it was aimed at Rossi but seems it was towards the marshalls for helping Rossi over him - in fairness I would of as well

It was 100% Rossi's fault, but I don't think anyone can say it was intentional. So to me Casey should have shook Vale's hand and make a comment on how he knew the ducati was a pig. After all his talent on that bike this year looks to be the perfect combination and we are really early in the season. His comment was just that of a petulant child IMO.

IF Rossi sorts the handling of that thing out stoner might regret that childish comment.
Personally I thought Rossi went for the kudos of passing stoner on the ducati and getting in his head rather than actually stopping the thing. Fair play for a prompt apology though.
Like someone said I also had a smile at the irony of the ducati front folding and taking stoner out.

He did make this gesture:

I would applaud the greatest motorcycle racer of modern times too.

Stoner post-race:

I think there was another one as well which took place the other side of the barrier - after shouting with a marshal Stoner does it.

But thanks, I'd not seen that one of Casey clapping.

Let face it, his talent at that moment did run out & like all of us i am a Rossi Fan how could one not be .. but at the same time i am a casey fan cause he's MOD EDIT....DONT try to get around the swear filter...fast.

(MOD.. I wasn't actually swearing i was emphasizing my point, but fair enough I WON'T do it again, apologies).

Like you say i just think he saw a chance of a win after what's really quite a dry spell after breaking his leg a bit of frustration creeping in methinks, also the same thing happen to young Marc Marquez in Moto2 he wasnt that happy about being taken out either!

Also did not Marco Simoncelli made similar complaints about the marshals after crashing out of the lead, i guess being Vals mate didnt help him either..

Caseys is what he is & i think those words were just for the cameras that Rossi just happened to bring along with him, after all its all just a media game & you could see Casey was smiling when he made his comment as well, much the same as Rossi's pre season comments (digs) on both Casey & Lorenzo its just head games, still nothing really beats Max Baiaggi behaviour at Donington Must admit to be gutted for both Ben & Cal still both had a great race though & Cal well he at least brough it home.

FZR400RRSP I admit i was wrong about Cal i think he has got the right stuff after all, i think he may do very well in MotoGP.

Well done Bradley great Moto2 ride

And should make for an interesting race,as a few at the top have something to prove...

Stoner will want to be top Honda again, and Pedrosa will want some of that too.
Simoncelli should be amusing,as he takes it from no-one,and isn't above a bit of elbowing.

Lorenzo may will simply get away and leave the fighting to the rest...

That'd be the old global warming thing again....it seems to be used to explain every unusual bit of weather these days.

I wonder if it explains the spat between Lorenzo and Simoncelli...

autosport.com - MotoGP News: Lorenzo and Simoncelli in public row

I expect the old guard would simply say "Eeess the racing no?"

The run down to the first corner should be interesting between those two..

As Biaggi said in his 250 days:

"it's not ballet dancing"

They should try the first turn at Knockhill in a 600 race.....

I think at the front of the grid, each needs a competitor to dislike or openly hate in some cases.

Clearly Simoncelli is the focus of Lorenzo's ire now that Rossi is a bit too far back.

OK...as it's now several hours post race....

Rossi got robbed of 4th place at the line...

We all got robbed of what could have been a real battle with Simoncelli and Lorenzo..
