I've just got a new Motorola V8 from Orange, and I can't seem to make it do what I want. I want to create a profile so that the phone will only ring - texts, alarms, reminders etc are all silent. Try as I might, it just won't do it. Any ideas how to do this (not using vibrate)?
Also, according to the instructions I can clear texts and reminders from the touch screen, but it doesn't work. Any ideas?

I'm having similar problems with the touch screen. When a message comes through it states view but try as I might, it won't do anything when I touch the screen. It's as if there are no touch sensitive keys on the front screen.

Do I need to activate something in the phone settings to enable touchscreen? Or is this a defective phone?

I have a feeling that your phone may have had the touchscreen functionality dumbed down. I bought my V9 sim and firmware free and the touchscreen does everything it should. God alone knows why they do it and when I last looked there was no cure.

Touchscreen in the V8 is only available in the 2 bottom corners. You can get it to work when you see 2 big buttons appear there, otherwise you have to use the 3 buttons on the side to scroll up/down and press ok.
