I've been given a Motorola V545 (I know it's a few years old) as my phone broke. I have put my sim card in it but nothing is happening even though I press all the buttons. I've plugged in the battery charger and the display tells me it's charging.

What could be wrong?

My sim card is for pay-as-you-go from Orange and the phone was before used by a friend who was on a Orange contract and the phone even has the Orange logo on it. Also I cannot find a user manual anywhere online.
