Motorola A1000 sat nav

Tried searching through the old posts but without joy.

I've got a Motorola A1000 that's been sitting collecting dust for the last 9 months. I've had the bright (if somewhat old) idea of using it as a sat nav instead of using my N70. At least I might be able to see the maps on the A1000. Can anyone let me know if this is a good idea, or whether I should just go and fork out the money for a proper sat nav?

Navicore seems to be working out at £160 for compatible software.

Cheers for any advice

Re: Motorola A1000 sat nav

Hi Iv,e got a Motorola A1000 with Tomtom and Route 66 on Tomtom is ok as its in widescreen and just the same as the standalone version you will need a gps receiver and a 512Mb micro sd memory card had it a couple of years and had no problems plus no need to carry a phone and satnav
Hope this helps
