Oh, are you seriously telling me you spent two and a half thousand pounds on glowing lights under your car?

A quick search for Calibra cars shows this to be pretty close to the actual worth of one these days.

hmmmm

I was well impressed yesterday on how much savings there is to be had when slowing down...I had to drive my Audi TT, oops sorry my VW GOLF IV 2.0GT TDI from Manchester back home....Instead of my usual position in the overtaking lane flashing everyone out of the way whilst doing 95mph...I stayed to the left and just the middle lane every now and then and averaged 70mph....I established a whopping 57.8mpg with radio and dual zone climate control on....And I only arrived 10 minutes later than usual, and was less tired as well....

Maybe there is hope for me....

fantastic!

stick £2.5's worth of leds to a £400 car

could of saved the money and got a £3k car rather than a cavalier in drag and put a b&q floodlight underneath it which only costs £8

I think that some of the comments on here are not in the spirit of the forums as many of them appear to be thinly disguised insults aimed at the car's owners rather than valid comments about the cars.

Gentle poking of fun is one thing but some of the comments have gone beyond that so please treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.

I'd offer him at least £405 inc. the lights. Might be able to get it in the new series of doctor who.

k-reg? mines N registered plus only 100 made.when i strip it and trade it in for the volvo dealer has promised me minimum of £1500-£2000.plus add to that another £2-3k from the sale of the interior equipment,i'll be happy! maybe then i won't have a car what people poke the fun at so much.constructive criticism is one thing but out and out micky taking and nasty comments are another.

Probably not necessary at all, but just because I'm a moderator does it mean I can't have an opinion and a joke every now and then ?

All

got to say, CalibraDTM's got a point. It's his money, he's worked for it, he should be able to spend it how he wants. Any kind of changes from the 'standard' are bound to be an expression of personal taste and therefore easy to criticise - but let's not overstep the mark.

Cars are especially emotive as they are seen as an expression of status, wealth and class (hence the chav comments previously)... the likely demographic of this forum is unlikely to see a Calibra as their dream car (and CalibraDTM should therefore expect a level of criticism), but let's not be overly harsh.....

People take the mick out of me owning a Fiesta all the time - I don't let it bother me as I'm past the stage of worrying what others think about a thing that's designed to get me from A to B. That's all a car means to me.
