zafira limp home mode problems

Hi all ,
We have an 02 plate zafira that seems to be having some issues . It will drive ok when cold , but once warmed up the traction controll light will cone on and the car goes into limp hone mode ( loss of power , no more than 20mph ) it got the fault codes looked at on the ecu by the local garage , but the codes are pointing to a number of things it could be . Is it worth getting the ecu tested ? The spanner light has also come on now saying it could be an electrical fault , but because the car is now cool , the tranction light has gone off !

hi there were do u live mate? is there an independant vauxhall specialist near you? take the car there and get them to plug the obd onto tech 2 and see what the faults are it could be something simple like a crank sensor or lamda probe which wouldnt cost too much to rectify! on these cars u can read the codes without the tech 2 what u do is press and hold the brake and accelorator pedals then turn the ibnition on BUT DONT START THE CAR and the ecu lights will flash a code u then write the code down and find out what the code relates to-i it might flash once pause then lflash once pause flash 3 times pause then flash 5 timei ie 135

crank sensor! hope this helps!

According to my Vauxhall fault code list......

P1895 TCM to ECM Torque reduction Circuit. (Possibly transmission related)
P0136 Pre-cat oxygen sensor.
P0170 Lean or rich exhaust.
P0036 Post cat oxygen sensor.
P0140 Post cat oxygen sensor incorrect signal.
P0354 Ignition coil incorrect signal.
P1700 SUS request via CAN B -06....whatever that means

Personally I would clear the codes and run the car to see which codes appear, this is because some of these codes could be historic and not relevant.

Looking like the oxygen sensors are not working right, but as I said, clear the codes and run it then check the codes again.

It got cleared and the torque one came back and one other (cant remember which one ) problem is , because we had problems with the ecu before , and different lights keep showing on the dashboard the garage recomended testing the ecu more to rule it out than anything elles .

As the spanner light was on it might be the crank sensor as was mentioned by bumpymark.

Every time I've had the spanner light on with a Vauxhall the crank sensor has been faulty, but maybe you should have a fault code?

Maybe a MAF sensor fault....nothing more than guesswork really.

EGR valves give loads of problems on Vauxhalls.

Difficult to say without seeing the car and diagnostics.
