Saw a nice ironic one in Preston on Tuesday - on a Ford Ka. Small car, you might think - not this one, it was B1 GKA. (It was properly spaced, by the way)

I knew it would come out on 2 lines - spoils the effect

All I'm saying is that if someone is doing say 50 in a 60, and I want to do 60, so I overtake, and in doing so make a bad/rash decision and have an accident, then I am 100% to blame for that.

Obviously that doesn't apply to any speed - I think you should drive at a 'reasonable' speed, but I disagree that anyone below the limit (assuming it's safe etc) is not causing accidents.

That's my take.

whoops, I thought this was the argument room. What's that you say? This is the abuse room? Terribly sorry.

A local garage has a 4x4 they use for recoveries with the numberplate M1 TOW - don't know if they have any others. Their truck is painted up in Battenburg markings and looks just like a highway patrol vehicle, until you realise it doesn't have any emergency services markings

Saw a battered looking 4x4 pick up last night.
The plate was spaced together, so it clearly spelled 'OBESE'
Only a quick glance I got, but I think it was G8ESE, or similar.
I couldn't help thinking.......why would you want to advertise you're obese?

Yet another "plate I've seen on the road" that fails to turn up in the AskMID database.
Seems either a lot of people with "personal plates" don't bother buying insurance or these don't exist or were illegal show-plates on the road.

Not really sure I understand what that site is doing. A lot of the plate I have seen that I put in are 'not valid' and some are 'not on the database' - so it seems to attempt to do some sort of pre-validation before looking in the db, but surely that won't work? E.g. if I put in F1 (Button?) it comes back as 'invalid'.

I think it's broken IMO

That's brilliant, would make a great photo(and I bet more than a few were snapped on a regular basis).

2B = BMW 728 I AUTO
NOT 2B = MERCEDES S 65 AMG

According to that askmid site.

I do love spotting humerous plates, see quite a few around here but I've such a bad memory I forget them, will try to remember the next couple I see.

Some of these plates are surprisingly cheap, obviously with just a 1 on the front makes it pricey, but there are loads of OMG, *** examples costing £250 each.

I'm sure someone could have some(silly/dangerous) fun with a carefully positioned screw cap on this one, again £250...

Or one for the Clio enthusiasts...

I saw G7 ROB on a Chrysler 300 and 1 FMS on a BMW. This thread is causing me to get some strange looks as I drive along peering at number plates

Edit: And B4 OMD on a Passat Estate (anyone remember them? OMD, not Passat estates )

F458 RED on a red Ferrari 458...surprisingly! Owned by a supercar club in our area, looks great.
PU51 BAR - on a van driving around Edinburgh advertising a lap dancing club!

Also seen "9 points mean you slow down!" - written on paper in the back of a car window. Made me laugh!
