£11K for that minor accident!

Any ideas I may have had about a GTR being a bit of fun for a few years have just disappeared.

If you consider the number of low speed shunts that take place,Nissan must be rubbing their hands in anticipation.

I'm sticking with my current car...

Re: Nissan GTR owners, don't, whatever you do, crash it !

If it was not serious i would of ****** myself laughing. What a stupid car company but having said that its stupid fast and i mean stupid fast.

I think Nissan have really put a damper on their image. i mean c'mon 11k he should of put them through a court and reasonable person can see its taking the ****.

Gear box going/camshaft full engine rebuild new shell ok i understand but their was bumper damage only and ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh gets me worked up. Glad i cant afford a Datsun Skyline.
Another reason to buy an M5

Re: Nissan GTR owners, don't, whatever you do, crash it !

So the price looks excessive for a little nudge, sure I agree.

Thing is the cost of repairs for most cars these days is excessive, the GF's uncle reapairs some high end cars, he done a AM Vanquish a little while back which needed a new door and front wing, the parts alone just delivered to the garage was £8k, he reckoned the work required to sort everything else and sundries would bring the final bill close to £15K.

You may need more than a chip to get it to the same power/weight ratio

The Nissan weighs in at over 280bhp/tonne....that means I need another 50bhp...

I know of a couple of guys who've been running 450bhp S3s.....each has coughed up well over £10k incl the one who didn't do all of the mods properly and holed at least one piston.

Re: Nissan GTR owners, don't, whatever you do, crash it !

Wow, that is some steep repair job.

Never knew the bonnet popped up during a front end crash. Could of designed it so it could be lowered down again after the incident and reset without going through all the hassle of what that owner went through.

As was said in the original GTR Owner's club thread.....there may well be insurance issues if you do that.
