Horn not working on Vauxhall Corsa

I went to use my horn today and noticed it wouldnt work! When I got home I pushed it as hard as I could and even punched it, still nothing!

Its a 1998 Corsa, any idea on what it could be?

Re: Horn not working on Vauxhall Corsa

anything else not working? might be a blown fuse.

Check the connectors behind the horn buttons, maybe there is a bad contact.

Hi, you need to establish weather the relay is working. Horns are not wired stright to the sounder ( horn unit).
Its power>relay>steering>relay>horn+ground

Press horn on the steering wheel if no sound> open bonnet look for sounder which is next to your radiator to the n/s ( paggenger side headlight. Its shaped like a fire siren from an old building, possibly in red ( sorry i am not taking the ****) .
If the horn seems to work or sounds funny or you can hear a slight noise then circuit is working and you need only to change the unit ( a few quid from scrappers). If the unit is not faulty its the realy in your wirebox/fiusebox located a: drivers sidedash or under bonnet.

Or you can save yourself all the hassle by....

1) check fuse
2) check horn
3) replace horn and pray to god it works

Were the lights on? There is an issue with the Astras where the horn can fail when the lights are on. Its down to a faulty CIM module. A temporary fix can be to turn the brightness down on the dash lights. Dunno whether this problem affects the Corsas though.

Re: Horn not working on Vauxhall Corsa

Had the same thing on a Corsa of the same age last year. Left it until the MOT was due, pointed it out to the mechanic & he replaced it with a new horn for £11 on top of the MOT cost. Job done

The lights and horn were on the same circuit, in my Cavalier Sri.
A bad short on the horn led to me being without wipers, in ******* rain on the M6.
Marvellous.

Took it to the mechanics yesterday and he checked it out. The horn itself is fine but the Horn Ring doesnt work and thats what needs to be replaced.
