Which Intel Motherboard Has the Most SATA Ports

Hi Peeps,

Can anybody tell me which Intel motherboard will give me the most internal SATA ports, eSATA would be handy but not esential, this is going to be a new build so i will buy the processor to suit the board.

I am looking to build a server for home to host pics, music etc for the family and back up everybodys devices to it, looking to alocate storage for each person so looking to hook up a few drives etc.

I would suggest that you look into NAS devices first as they are capable of fulfilling your needs.
e.g. QNAP, Synology.

Which socket do you need and are you talking about motherboards for an Intel processor or motherboards made by Intel?

The ASRock P67 Extreme6 supports 10 SATA connections, as do their more expensive Z77 Professional and Z77 Extreme9

I did think about NAS but would prefer to have the flexability of being PC based.

Idealy looking for Intel processor maybe i5, the ASRock P67 sounds ideal i will take a look at the specs.
