Rampage 11 extreme pci-e v1.1

Hi,
I would like to install a sata3 pci-e card, as this board only supports sata11.
I have been reading posts explaining to install one of these cards your pci-e should be above pci-e v1.1.

This is from the Rampage 11 extreme spec.

Expansion Slots 3 x PCIe 2.0 x16 support at x16, x8, x8, or dual x16 speed
2 x PCIe 2.0 x1 ( the PCIEx1_1 (black) is compatible with audio slot)
1 x PCI 2.2

I have seen posts where pci-e slot 2 should be used, out of the above spec are the pci-e slots on this board v1.1 ?

Also by buying a cheaper sata3 pci-e card will the readings be slower.?

Any help please.
Thank you
Gary.

On the Rampage II extreme all of your PCI-e slots are v2.0+ so so the Sata III pci-e card will fit, assuming you have enough slots left.

And yes, the cheaper the Pci-e card, the slower the read/write.
