Replacement motherboard for P5N32-E SLI Plus

Can someone point me to a replacement motherboard for a P5N32-E SLI Plus.

My brother has this board and it recently died on him. I would like to fix his computer for him but I am struggling to find a replacement board.

It really needs to have 4 slots if possible.

Can you tell us more about the system in question ?

Does the replacement board have to be SLI ? and NVidia chipset ?

Ebay has some suitable direct replacements.

The board is dead.

It don't have to be a SLI or Nvidia as he only has 1 graphics card running. It just needs to support 4 banks of memory and also the same 775 chip set.

It needs also IDE and Sata.

If you're hoping to avoid a reinstall of Windows you'd be best off getting a second hand mobo as maf has said, so that you have no problems booting as the controller drivers will be the same (dependent on the chipset used).

IIRC the P5N32-E Sli Plus had a hybrid nVidia chipset using parts of 650i and 680i.

Most of the boards available now seem to be Intel based, so you'd be looking at reinstalling Windows if you went that route.

A reinstall is not a big issue.

Just pick a socket 775 board then with the features you need. You won't get the same chipset without buying the same board as I said before.

Here's a few at scan...but look around to see what best suits, and just double check that it supports the CPU you're putting in - some may only support later revisions of the 775 CPUs.

Intel Motherboard, NVIDIA, Asus Motherboard, Supermicro Motherboard - Scan.co.uk
