Low Windows Experience Score for memory on Z68 board

I've recently upgraded to a sandybridge system but decided to use the memory from my old P55 system to cut down on cost.

In my old system the memory scored 7.5
In my new system it scores 5.9

The old system was i7 860, Gigabyte P55M-UD2, 4GB Corsair XMS3
The new one is i5 2500K, Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3, 4GB Corsair XMS3

The rest of the system stayed the same.

In both systems the ram was set using XMP so the timings were exactly the same. Nothing was overclocked in either so the difference in score just seems strange

Any ideas?

I don't know why it would be so low in my experience any DDR3 dual channel will be in the 7 range. also the graphics card memory seems to effect that score as well

I've actually just done a little experiment. I added another 4gb of the same type (another 2 x 2gb of xms3) the score went straight up to 7.8 with no settings changed. As soon as I removed the original 4gb it went back down to 5.9. No idea now!!

The gpu is a GTX 460 768mb. Which was in the original system too

Make sure RAM is running at it's rated speed and forget about it. WEI is a useless tool.

I used a different benchmark and the ram is running as it should. Just proves your point that WEI is crap!
