asus p5k mobo cannot get dual channel ram working..help
I installed 2gig [2x1gig] matched patriot extreme ram into board but cup-z is just showing it as a single 2ig ram running at 800 ...i tried swapping sticks between black and yellow slots but it made no differance.Any ideas guys !..i searched asus forum but have not found this problem.

Any help please..does anyone know of a bios feature to enable this.I tried both yellow and black slots then different coloured slots still refuses to run dual channel..must be asus owners out there...

I am pretty sure it just shows 2gig memory...were can i find more info in bios ?

Did you try the memory in the slots as per the manual to get dual channel ? Sometimes you need it in alternate slots not side by side.

tried them everyway..both in yellow then both in black then yellow and black..its a matched pair of this stuff

well i disabled full screen logo in bios and now when it posts i see dual channel interleaved flash up..is that it ?
Anyone know how to pause the post screen to see info better..i would know for sure then

Yes that's it. You can't make the system hold on the post screen unless there's an error. Have you got the latest version of CPU-Z? It may not support that chipset yet..

The Pause key usually works... if you can hit it quick enough! Or Ctrl-S (I think). Easiest option though is turn of Quick Post in the BIOS, you'll get a few seconds to read while it checks the RAM.

Thanks guys its sorted i downloaded latest version of cup-z and it states it as running in dual channel
In the IA overclocking feature i set the memory to 800mhz with 2.2v yet cpu-z states each stick is 396.0mhz is that right ?
