Troubleshooting an Asus P5W64 WS Pro

It happened as I was sticking a display adapter in and I realise now, forgot to connect the power lead. I installed the NVidia driver, and towards the end of the process the screen blackened... it went through what seems like a POST, but it never posted. There was some flashing from the keyboard, but that was it.

Now whenever I turn on the system the flashing on the keyboard is all I get. It doesn't POST whatever video card I put in - not even a PCI one. Perhaps the flashing is some sort of diag code but I don't see a reference for that anywhere.

Could anyone shed light on what happened and what I can do about it?
