Re: mb 1 slot

I had a similar problem with my ne Gigabyte mobo. In the end I spent £20 and got a new SATA DVD/RW solved all my problems ;->

Re: mb 1 slot

SATA replaced IDE. Soon, IDE will not even on any motherboards!

Re: mb 1 slot

You can buy adaptors SATA <-> IDE, HDD's aren't old fashioned, but IDE is.

Re: mb 1 slot

Or if you really want to keep the old drives then you could just get a PCI IDE plug in card and run your CD/DVD drive(s) off this card.

TBH rather then waste good money on old I'd go out and get a decent SATA drive to replace the old IDEs. Your mobo should have come with a few SATA connection cables and maybe even a molex to SATA power convertor cable so make if you decide to go the SATA drive route that you have these or you'll need to order them with the drive.
