Dell S2409W - Backlight Bleeding

This monitor arrived today and I just noticed the backlight bleeding on the top and bottom of the monitor which I'm a little worried about. Is this normal? What should I do about it? I notice it when the display goes dark for example when booting up into Windows and when playing Dead Space.

Any information on this topic would sure put me at ease.

If you don't like it, send it back for an exchange. Backlight bleeds are a common issue, some people can live with it, some not.

I wouldnt' stand for it, but that's just me...

Hi,

You will be able to get a replacment monitor from Dell, you should call Dell on 08443381200 and ask for the monitors department, they will then ask for the works order number and serial number (all is located on the box)

Many thanks Annika

Re: Dell S2409W - Backlight Bleeding

Thought I would post an update.

So Dell came and replaced my monitor with a refurbished one which i thought was a little strange but anyway.

The backlight bleeding is reduced though I still do notice some across the top but it's not as noticeable as before.

The main thing I notice now is that the picture seems to curve in the edges. There is also a black edge around the whole picture of say 1.5 mm. It's not a great amount of curve but text in areas seems slanted. Is that common?

Not having much luck with this...

Re: Dell S2409W - Backlight Bleeding

So...

I emailed PCBuyit who I bought it from about the issues I'm having. I got a very fast email back saying they have contacted Dell who are sending me a brand new monitor in 3 - 4 days time and that they won't pick this one up untill it arrives so i have use of a monitor.

With the exception to the issues I'm having with the monitor itself which is out of their hands I'm dead chuffed with the the service that PCBuyit provide. Real top knotch.

Fingers crossed this next one will solve all the issues.
