Advice on audio for pc monitor

Hi all i have a problem, i was bought a new monitor from my wife which is very nice but has no audio or audio out puts. The Monitor is a nice Acer 24inch what i wanted to do was use the monitor as a tv using a freeview box. I am not to clever when it comes to this tuff.
Here is the exact monitor i have
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ls_o01_s00_i00

I have a crappy basic freeview box with no audio outputs just a single scart with rf in and rf out. So i am assuming i need a new freeview box with the ability to give me audio options from the freeview box?

Does anyone here know the easiest set up (cheapest) Is there any scart leads out there that have audio leads coming from it that can be plugged into a speaker set up maybe?

Is there any freeview boxes with digital sound output? even headphone output?

Any advice is greatly appreciated..Thank you..

Yeah, you can get breakout adapters/cables cheaply enough (under a fiver). Amazon should have the usual huge selection from various companies, this is the first one I came across.

I'm surprise that the SCART to VGA converter you're using for the picture doesn't have any audio output though, the VGA cable can't carry it.

Thank you for your reply. I have not used the freeview box as yet on my pc monitor. As i do not have a scart to vga converter. (i should of explained better sorry) The only think i have done to test out the monitor is use a hdmi lead direct from virgin box to hdmi slot in monitor, great picture no sound So that is why i need either a good freeview box with what i need for audio or what you have described and linked me to, thank you kindly...

does the monitor have a headphone out socket on it? if it does (most of them do) the you can get the HDMI audio from that by connecting speakers

sadly no headphone socket outlet. For a new latest 24" monitor you would of thought it would have one. I should of checked b etter before i bought the monitor.

So if anyone here was to own this monitor Acer S240HLbid 24 inch Full HD widescreen LCD monitor with LED Backlight (16:9, 100,000,000:1, 1920 x 1080, 5ms, HDMI/DVI) - Black: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

how would you go about getting freeview and audio? I think my only choice is going to be a freeview box with audio outlets..

I'd expect whatever converter you buy to connect the video from the SCART to the monitor to split off the audio. A freeview box with audio outputs may be cheaper though.
