Can any tariff beat my "old" Genie Tariff ?

Hi,

I have had one of the old "Genie" tariffs for 22 months now...

I get 50 off peak mins a day, free WAP, and 600 SMS a month...

Thing is, O2 now charge 17p to send a text to an overseas mobile, and I send a lot of texts to Speedway buddies in Scandinavia, Austria & the Czech Republic....

Does anyone know of a tariff that beats "Genie" ?

I could quite happily drop the minutes to 1,000 a month, and 500 free texts, as long as the free texts inncluded messages to foreign mobiles...

I tried looking in the tariff charts in the mag. , but it does not list SMS charges to foreign mobiles...Could this please be included in future ?

Regards,

Jeffster

Think free overseas text's are a thing of the past, and just another money spinner for the networks...

O2 17p; Voda 24p each...

I've been on Genie since it started. I thought that by now there would have been services that would have surpassed it. How wrong i was. In fact, they pulled the plug on offering it cos they were losing so much money on it. We cost BT money... Great.

Seriously though, I think you'll be hard pushed to find a tariff that beats the one you're on - the genie packages always have been exceptionally hard to beat if you can excuse the total lack of "Service"... but that's another story... (Me, Sour? Never... )

As above, I think "Free" oversea's texts are a thing of the past now

Unfortunately guys, I have heard on another mobile forum that O2 will soon be migrating those of us still on "Genie" tariffs to one of the O2 online tariffs...

The person who posted the info claimed to work for O2, and said that we will soon be given 30 days notice that we will be migrated to a tariff offering :

500 off peak mins
50 xnet off peak mins
500 SMS
500 WAP minutes....

Whether we are migrated , remains to be seen of course........

Orange offer a couple of deals this one is to call any network and any time.

Monthly line rental £30

Free Mins 200

Free txts 500 (=6000 a year)

Or this

Monthly line rental £50

Free Mins 400

There are other deals at other cheaper more expensive prices or if you dont want to call all networks or if u only use ur phone off peak etc
check the orange website
