panasonic GD55

My girlfriend has just bought one of the above. she is on a vodaphone contract simcard but when she put it in the new GD55 phone it displays this "sim mep locked" Anyone know what this means or if she is going to be able to use her sim card in the new panny gd55 phone.

Phone is locked to the payt sim card...

Get it unlocked, see local dealer, or Voda will charge £20 phone 191.
