letter from 02 saying i`ve used my current phone for last 6 months

letter from 02 saying i`ve used my current phone for last 6 months

right to cut a long story short :

i got a phone off ebay 6 months ago
did`t have a receipt with imei number
other day my phone broke
its insured but they need a letter from carphone or 02 saying that i`ve been using it.

question is can i go in to a carphonewear house store or an 02 shop and get one or do i have to wait for them to send it. cheers

i did`t buy it, i got it off some one, its 2 years old how will they help???
Make of phone does matter in some instances, if it was a Nokia you could post it straight back to their EU repair centre for a repair irrespective of proof of use/ownership.

I suggested posting over in the iPhone sub forum as someone there may have had a similar problem.

they letter is for my phone insurance company, just so they know that i have been using it, and not got some one else`s one.

Do you not have tostate what phone you want insured before taking out the policy?
Try calling O2 cust services as this sort of details will be held by them!

Edit - Just re-read your original question!
You'll have to wait for them to send it as it's probably not that readily available!

am guessing they want the network to confirm that the imei number has been used with that sim for 6 months. if thats the case just ask them as no one else will be able to help.
