New Mobiles Compatibility with Cars Bluetooth Issues

I just received my new 5800 and have failed to get it to connect to my 55 plate BMW X5 - so my initial reaction was to return it for a phone that was compatible.
However I am now wondering if this is a larger issue and that all new mobiles will be incompatible with factory fitted bluetooth units.
If thats the case its not worth me returning the 5800.

I would appreciate any help.

Re: New Mobiles Compatibility with Cars Bluetooth Issues

Alfa use Microsoft Blue & Me HFK & media player and there are all sorts of issues with newer phones. The c902 upgrade phone I had (now given to my wife) was lovely but hard to use & buzzed on B & M.

The LG Secret would pair but the phone book wouldn't synch and the pairing would drop out.

We're hoping the Fiat / Alfa update the B & M system for the newer phones. Ditto you & BMW!

My '08 M6 doesnt pair with the blackberry bold or 8900 curve at all. I know the C902 doesnt work properly in Mercedes from a friend also. It seems to be hit and miss to be honest.
