Cordless home phone submerged...

Hi, my dog knocked my Panasonic cordless home phone in the mop bucket, didnt realise until the next morning, it is now U/S and was part of a twin. Can I buy the same model but a single and expect both the remaining phone and the new one to work or do they work on different frequencies? Any help appreciated!
