Bold on Vodafone or T-Mobile?

Hi

I broke my unlocked and uninsured Bold at Christmas. As this is the third handset that I have bought on eBay and managed to break in 18 months, I think that its better for me to go on a contract and get some insurance.

Vodafone will give me a Bold free of charge on an 18 month contract with 600 mins, unlimited text, unlimited net, unlimited BIS and insurance for £47 per month.

I checked the T-Mobile website and they could offer nothing really like this so I called Vodafone and ordered my new Bold.

However when I called T-Mobile they offered me a Bold free of charge, 500 mins, 400 text (this is more that I will use), unlimited net, unlimited BIS and insurance for £49 per month.

My question is Vodafone is cheaper but I have never been a fan. Is it worth paying £2 more per month to go with T-Mobile?

You can get it free from O2 for £35 if you look at BlackBerry Bold - Great Mobile Phone Deals on Orange

Yep on o2 you will get the Bold + 600 mins + 1000 text and unlimited net, unlimited BIS for £35. Not sure how much extra insurance is a month but I can't see it being £12.

Re: Bold on Vodafone or T-Mobile?

Insurance is around £7.50 direct from O2, I know I'm paying that for my iPhone and I imagine the Bold is in the same category.
T-Mobile Insurance is £8.99 I think, but again depends on the handset.

Re: Bold on Vodafone or T-Mobile?

Hi Guys

Thanks for the info. I have my iPhone with O2 and would like to have my Bold on either t-mobile or Vodafone. Do you think that if i call them they might match the o2 deal?

Re: Bold on Vodafone or T-Mobile?

I would give their sales line a ring.

I got a Bold on vodafone for £60 for the handset.

£25 a month for 100 mins 50 texts unlimited Internet & BIS

I didn't need anymore as I make calls from my iPhone. It's good to have a second line from another provider because of coverage.

You could get the following with t-mobile

Combi 30WnW + Blackberry

700 Mins
Unlimited Texts
Unlimited Internet
Blackberry BIS
Premium Device Insurance

for £49

The tariff you mentioned above would be £44.99

Re: Bold on Vodafone or T-Mobile?

One option is to keep the Bold you have and get O2 Simplicity 20 (£20 per month, 600 mins, unlimited text, unlimited web) deal which includes unlimited BB data (select the free unlimited web bolt-on and ring customer services to change to BB data). With regards to the insurance, ring up your contents insurance provider and check if they will cover your mobile, some will.
