N95, rotateme, frustration........

I don't know if it's me or what, but I have been trying to install rotateme as a phone rotate utility for days now to no avail. I have searched forums, downloaded bits of software, and prayed to the moon - all in vain.

When trying to install the app I get the message - Certificate error - please contact the supplier.

I have tried:

Turning off certificate checking on the phone.
Certifying the sis myself at the website but I get told that my email doesn't match the programme's email.
Downloading other software to run in dos to make a certificate - no luck

All I want is to turn the phone sideways and have the screen change - is this too much to ask.

I have spent hours searching on this and not made any progress - can anyone help with a simple solution to my problem here?

Isnt rotation included in the nokia firmware update ? It was for the N95 8GB from V20 onwards.
Just checked its included in V30 firmware so just update your phone firmware and auto rotation will be included in the update.

That's excellent news - I don't know why Nokia didn't include it in the first place. Now all I need is for Three, my provider to approve the update for installation on the phone ! ! !

You could debrand it yourself and update to the latest version. You might invalidate your warranty and if you've only just got teh phone its worth thiking about.

I dont' know what version your running but v20 upwards speeds up the phone a lot as well as the additional rotatin option. Press *#0000# to find out what version of software your running on your phone.

I've got version 20.0.015 - and you're right this update helped a lot, especially with the satnav function. But it doesn't have the rotation option (unless I'm looking in the wrong place ! ! )

Re: N95, rotateme, frustration........

I've been thru the menus and I definitely cannot find it in my N95. I read somewhere that it was activated on the N95 8Gb on V20, but on the ordinary N95 on V30?

Re: N95, rotateme, frustration........

I havent been able to find it in the N95 8gb and im on software version 30. I use Rotateme.

you should have 2 files to install with Rotateme, one is the app the other is the accellerometer plugin which should be done after yuo install the App itself.

EDIT:

scrub that, just found it, it is built into the Version 30 software for the N95 8Gb. Its under personalisation, display.
