Hey guy's,

I have just bought myself a N95 8Gb black and im wanting to know what you think is the best sat nav programme to run on it??
Where is the best place on the net to buy this and how do you install this onto the phone??

i would get route66 v8 i think its the best one . clear instructions and easy to follow. full post code search as we as the normal road name etc . picks up gps fast i just have it one the seat next to me and its always bang on. that is what i would recommend hope that helps

TBH i have never heard of route 66 before i have been checking out copilot7 live and garmin xt so this will give me another one to go with

How do you install these maps onto the phone, via a memory card reader and the PC??

you have 8gb internal hard drive . i use a macbook and just install programs by using the nokia app thing link here Nokia Nseries

Garmin XT got my vote on the N82 and is the same on the N95... probably better in fact as it's got a larger screen.

I found it easier to use than TomTom, which I use on Windows Mobile phones often. The routing is very good, very quick to find a route and to also re-route when you decide you know best and get it wrong

If you can get it to work use TOMTOM best out there
i have it on my n95 8gb you may need a patch to find the gps for the tomtom
that was the only problem but its still the best sat nav.

The tomtom patch is quite cumbersome and i removed it in favour of Garmin which works like a dream. I still run tomtom on my htc s710.

If you must have tomtom, then use sygix which has a very similar interface but works natively with the internal GPS, otherwise I can assure you Garmin is the only other option.

Agree and I absolutely love it!
But Garmin is pretty good as well.

Saying that, in terms of routing logic, still nothing beats Tomtom7.
Shame Tomtom7 isn't available on Symbian
