Improved Question:

Do 3 (Mobile Phone Network) let you use MSN Messenger free?

Will it work with a C905 simlocked with 3?

I don't use any messaging stuff, so excuse my ignorance, but is that the same as live messenger?

If so, that is free.
But I don't think your phone is compatible;

I believe it is the same yes. well It looks like I'm going with 3. Hopefully they will add C905 to that list soon-it's a popular phone.

Re: Do 3 let you use MSN Messenger free over 3G Network?

So the following line from the 3 website is actually incorrect?

Windows Live Messenger is free whether you are on Pay Monthly or if you're with Pay As You Go.

I see you have to have an x-series phone, perhaps that entails having an internet add on?

My N95 has all this Messenger, EBay, Skype and Yahoo, which I've been assured is free, but I only use my phone as a phone with the occasional text, so I haven't got a clue really

The ****ing buggers charged me last month for using messenger when i was talking to my daughter at home on it, i assumed it was no longer free (sorry). looks like i'm gonna be on the phone tonight finding out what the hells going on. Double checked online and it is free for sure.

I am with 3 on contract and use msn and it is free, I am not sure about pay as you go I think before it was only free for the first 3 months then you had to buy a internet add on but I am not sure as that was before.

If you do get on the blower to them, please clarify the situation for us mate
Even though I don't use all that stuff, I've just put my name to a contract for the daughter with 3 () and they're saying all the messaging etc is totally free.
Fair play to her, she refuses to believe it and won't touch it

But I'd love to tell her she can use messenger especially, as I'm sure the kids of today would love it

Re: Do 3 let you use MSN Messenger free over 3G Network?

will let you know why they charged me, probably just a mistake. was wondering though if it's just phone to phone that is free and not phone to home computer . Have to let wife deal with it as the phone is still in her name unfortunately.

Re: Do 3 let you use MSN Messenger free over 3G Network?

Shame its not free for the N96. Got a bloody letter through when I first signed up which had "Free Windows Live Messenger" plastered across it, turns out they don't have a version which works on it let alone it being free. Scumbags!

I acquired a version from elsewhere that works but the usage comes out of my internet addon allowance. Gutted!
