I have bought a few items from them on eBay (cheap charger etc). Always been fine, but they are not in manchester - they are in Hong Kong.

Re: E-Cell Global

well they use a .co.uk email address and ship from manchester and standard postage is royal mail signed for. on the minus sude they do claim that the only things they guarantee you will get is the phone, battery, charger and manual as "manufacturers often change what accesories are in the box"

I know they do

Have you any idea how many Hong Kong sellers are using UK registered accounts? A conservative guess is that most large scale eBay mobile and mobile accessory sellers are actually Hong Kong based - and for some reason they usually claim to be in Manchester.

And just last month i ordered an iPod accessory from someone who said they where in Manchester. 2 weeks later it turned up from Hong Kong. I suspected it would, but not not really care as it was so ludicrously cheap. When i questioned them, they replied (in very poor Chinglish) "we ran out off stock so we hand to order you direct from our Hong Kong warehouses". Yeah right.

But that's not to say never use them, i have had loads of amazing bargains arrive in less than a week from Hong Kong (a couple of things in just 2 days). Just be careful that's all, not everything on eBay is as it seems. Be wary of the import tax larger ticket items might attract. Look out for shipping insurance too.

Re: E-Cell Global

Here is a letter raised with Ebay:

Customer concern: Dear Ebay, Never have I had such a cause to complain about a fellow Ebayer but in this instance I strongly believe that this Ebayer is unethical. This item was won on the 9th Nov 08 and it has not arrived. I received an email stating that it was posted on the 17th Nov and on the 18th Nov I received an email with the tracking number. I would ask Ebay to investigate this ebayer for the following reasons:
1) I have reason to believe although they advetise as UK based their mobile phones are sent from Hong Kong - please check this website and what others have to say http://www.avforums.com/forums/mobile-phones-pdas/853521-e-cell-global.html
2) Over 99% of their rapidly rising negative feedback relates to the sale of mobile phones.
3)I'm not sure who they are E_cell, E_cell global or Elcell Communications Ltd.
4) The Recorded Delivery number they issued to me appears to be false - having checked with Royal Mail they have no record of this number.
5) Checking their feedback this is not the first time they have pulled this stunt with other Ebayers.
6) I have tried communicating with them and they have not responded. I have also tried calling their customer services the line quickly hangs up.
7) Here is the proof to start my campaign against them toolhaus.org YOU MUST CHECK THIS!!
[/COLOR]
I strongly believe that this Ebayer is harming the Ebay community with it's questionable operation unless I can be proved otherwise. Why else would it take over 10 days to deliver items first class as stated in their Ebay advertising.

Yours very concerned,

Dean Stewart

Hi Dean,

Looks like we both bought items from ecell on the same day and having problem with them, the item that i bought from them was a speakers which they falsely selling as compatible with Iphone 3g. When I received the item, there was nowhere on the box saying that it was compatible with it and when I plugged my iphone in this got confirmed.
So I contacted them back for a refund and they agreed to it and asked to send them back the product. Well once I sent the product back to them it took them a whole month to get back to me (for which I naively gave them the benefit of doubt that due to xmas holiday they must have been busy or something.) asking me to explain them again what was wrong with the item, once I emailed them back the details. They turned around and accused me of using the item for a month and then sending back to them so they cant give me a refund(and they still haven’t changed the description of the other similar items listed on eBay) .
I tried raising the issue on PayPal first but as it had been over 45 days PayPal just created a log for it but did not allow me to dispute it, then I tried filling a case on eBay but as PayPal has created that log I cant open the case on eBay anymore. I email eBay and in reply they have suggested contacting the police.
So if you still haven’t resolved the issue with them and are also convinced they not a UK based company, Do you wanna join to file a complaint in the police?

Re: E-Cell Global

Ooer, I really wished I read this thread before buying my new phone from them

They said they dispatched it on Tuesday using Recorded 1st class royal mail, but surely it should have arrived by now!!

If it hasn't arrived by Monday I will be opening a Paypal dispute and getting my money back through Paypal!

It's ridiculous that ebay allows them to advertise themselves as a UK based company when they are so obviously not.

I would have paid extra and bought from someone else if I had known they would take so long!!

Re: E-Cell Global

Yesterday I look through their feedback, picking the last two members who bought N82's from them.
I emailed both members expressing my concern with regards to them selling genuine retail boxed products.
The only negative both could give was the delivery times which were up to three weeks.

I would point out to members that such items will not be warranted in the UK... and as always caveat emptor applies in such situations

I bought a Nokia N82 a few months ago, it arrived OK, but took about 2 weeks as they initially stated that they were out of stock AFTER they had taken my money.

I woudl avoid them, always look for a seller who has a good rating and can actually have photos of the phone they have taken themselves.

Was the phone legit when it arrived? Retail boxed etc?
Where was the phone manufactured?

Re: E-Cell Global

The phones they sell are not UK spec. I was tempted to buy a Nokia N79 from them but thankfully I asked them a specific question about the phone being UK spec. They tried to beat around the bush with the usual , it will work in the UK and the manual will be in English etc, but when pushed admitted I would be getting a Far East made model.

Very true but I've read through quite a bit of his feedback and nothing indicates that they ship with anything other than the English language as default.
Still, I'll see when they arrive

After purchasing 2 x N82's from E-Cell on 21st January I received an email today telling me they had been despatched via Royal Mail. I should hopefully have them tomorrow.
I was expecting a three week turnaround so am pleasantly surprised

Bet they still haven't arrived. I ordered an N79 for them on the 12th and didn't dispatch it till the 19th and still have no item.

Expect at least 4 week turnaround/until you can claim your money back from PayPal, as we probably wont get them.

Re: E-Cell Global

Funnily enough, no I haven't received them

I was sent an email telling me they had been despatched on the 28th though received another email with two tracking numbers for the packages.
Both numbers are valid though obviously neither are showing as delivered - because they've yet to be.
I'm wondering if they really despatched this morning meaning Monday or Tuesday for arrival.

Re: E-Cell Global

I finally receive both black N82's this yesterday morning and am really happy with them.

Yes, it takes a long time for E-Cell to despatch goods (or maybe aquire them first) but condisering the savings to be had then it's something I can put up with.
I'll probably look them up next time I'm looking for a phone.

Re: E-Cell Global

E-Cell Global - thieves avoid at all costs!

I have one dealing with this company and will never use again! Please do not be tempted by their prices, these are Malaysian phones not for UK market! E-Cell Global will take your money and not refund………..

On 20/12/08 I purchased a Nokia N79 (close to £300) from E-Cell Global and received the item approx 02/01/09. All seemed good, new phone as described until I looked onto things further. I bought the phone for its FM transmitter it was missing from the software! After looking into things and using the phones id it turns out that E-Cell Global had sent a Malaysian phone where FM transmitters are not legal. I take the phone to my local Nokia shop; they are unable to update firmware to UK as they can only reflash UK models. I decide to return the item to E-Cell Global.

I email E-Cell Global they give me address for returns and promise a refund when received. The item was received by E-Cell Global 06/01/09, no refund or contact after 5 days so I email them. Their response is the item has been received there is a special department dealing with returns they will investigate! I email back, no investigation needed please process my full refund as requested. I have chased and chased E-Cell Global for my refund, I have had all sorts of responses like the item was never received, upon providing proof of postage they now admit it was an error and will notify me when refund is placed. I have been waiting over a month now, no refund from E-Cell Global just excuses. I hope my dispute I have opened with Paypal will resolve this matter and I will be able to recover my money from E-Cell Global, if so this will take another month. Two months E-Cell will have my £300 if I do indeed ever receive a refund, as I have put in emails to them, I am not their bank!

Sorry guys for the long post, I would just like to make sure nobody makes the same mistake I have, E-Cell Global steal your money and supply foreign phones please avoid!

Go to your local Nokia shop and have a haggle (as I did last week) you will be surprised!

Re: E-Cell Global

As I said above - I'm more than happy with the company, price and goods received

Maybe I was just lucky? Then again there's many more lucky buyers if you look at their feedback for the more expensive items (phones).
