Are you able to get the POP3/IMAP settings for Yahoo?

I was aware that Yahoo/Hotmail etc are web based e-mail providers and you are unable to set them up on a mobile phone?

Re: Setting up yahoo and Hotmail on E71

I know things like gmail are free to forward to mobiles etc, hotmail costs money to forward i think, the last time i tried to forward hotmail to outlook express it said something about £12.99.

Not sure about yahoo but il look into it as im personally intrested.

If im wrong about hotmail or if they changed it please post about it.

Re: Setting up yahoo and Hotmail on E71

Sorry for the double post.

Yahoo mail is $19.99 a year if you want to forward mail, is it really worth it to yahoo? £10 = 2.7p a day lol.

Id rather hook up a load of gmail accounts.

Not possible to setup your email inbox for these accounts without paying for the premium service.

Another alternative is using something like Momail

I've got POP3 email access on Yahoo and I don't have a premium account. How odd?

You have to use one of these mail forwarding services of you want to get around the charges for hotmail and yahoo.

I bet you have a .co.uk account right? If you do, then you are fine. If it is .com then unfortunately you will have to pay for the yahoo mail plus to obtain the pop settings and have access to it from your e71. Hope that helps.

Even on a windows live mail plus account, I have struggled to get it configured on an e71 for a friend of mine. I was thinking of paying £15 myself, but I think I will stick with gmail. Works great with my e71.

Re: Setting up yahoo and Hotmail on E71

I am using yahoo on my e71 and before that my N95 free of charge, I do have a .co.uk address

Using IMAP with SMTP for sending.

Hotmail doesn't work as they do not off pop and SMTP servers.

The yahoo settings are as follows

Incoming imap.next.yahoo.com

Security need's to be set to SSL/TLS with default ports

You need to put you account and password in

Outgoing

smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk

security needs to be set ssl/tls

You need to put you account and password in

Re: Setting up yahoo and Hotmail on E71

I remember reading somewhere that Microsoft offer a Windows Live native Symbian application that allows you to retrieve your Hotmail. It even appears as a mailbox in messaging.

I think this is the one: Symbian Corner: Nokia S60 Symbian Windows Live client available in Europe it also allows messenger use.
