Best phone with sat-nav/GPS?

Hi all,

This a question for everyone who has a cell phone that had GPS/sat-nav:

Which is the best phone with (free) sat-nav/GPS?

Now bear in mind that I don't want to pay an extra fee for GPS use, nor am I interested in paying a subscription - or a trial - for the privilege. I just want the phone to be able to give me navigation, I don't care about turn-by-turn or voice instructions.

Thanks.

Do you have to pay any extra fees to enjoy the GPS, or do you get to use it for free? Bear in mind, I'll be purchased an unlocked phone, using my orange sim card.

md1542: I'm guessing you're referring to the Iphone 3g? Do you have to pay any extra fees to use the GPS?

Ahhh. £40 for the map of the whole uk? Bloody hell, imagine the amount you've have to pay for the world map.

Ideally I would rather have the map of the entire globe.

To be honest I don't really understand GPS. There are phones that have inbuilt GPS, does this mean that you can use the GPS without paying a penny?

What other phones are you comparing it to? The iPhone GPS is very basic runs off standard google maps and no automatically re-routing.

GPS is free to use but some phone have an option of A-GPS which uses to a bit of mobile data for faster lock-on.
