Mobile memory cards

Firstly hi all as a new member

Had this problem with 2 phones (Nokia 7373&Samsung tocco) when i use memory cards.
Install in phone and copy files via USB or bluetooth with no probs.
Remove from phone and connect via card reader and then probs.
Computer recognises the USB device and loads software (XP) but then asks to insert disk into drive E (card reader)
Place back in phone and is not recognised and unable to format!

Therefore card won't work in PC,laptop or phone!
Should i format it on PC before using it on the phone?

Help please as i don't want to junk my new card and phone i got today

PS. 8 GIG sandisk in the Tocco

Re: Mobile memory cards

Its a common problem, most of the times associated with the card reader. Try a different card reader, if possible, just to be 100% what is the cause of the problem.

Done with 2 seperate card readers so far.Understand it maybe not working with PC but then to not work in phone afterwards baffles me.
Also both card readers came with the cards.

Re: Mobile memory cards

Put the card in the phone now so will just start to use the software for file transfer and NEVER take it out.
