N95 8GB or E71?

I am renewing my 3 contract this week and I cannot decide between the N95 or E71. I know they are both very different in what they do but to be honest I probably wont use all the features of either of them. Looking online they are both very well reviewed.Any help??????????????

You've answered your own question. They are verry different phones.
For more "everyday" usage I would suggest the N95.

Re: N95 8GB or E71??????????????????

I used to own a N95 when they were first released but never got one with it. The camera was too laggy and the dual slider was a pain. Everytime I put or take it out of my pocket it would open the slide.

I now own a E71 and I think its amazing. The quality of the handset is top notch. It has a metal frame and feel very weighty, yet very slim. I find the keyboard to be very good and can type much faster than using a standard keypad. The battery life last for ages, mainly because its huge and takes up most of the phone.

The downside is the camera on the E71 isn't very good, this is due to a bug in the software as it gives a purple tint to the image. Hopefully they will fix this in the next software update.

If you can live with the E71 keyboard. I can't recommend this phone highly enough, probably one of the best phone I ever own (I had a lot of phones)

quick comment: no blackberry client on the E71 if this matters to you. it'd be perfect for me if it wasn't for this...! had a hold of one the other day and it dicks on the n95 for pocketability too: very sleek, metal and slim. i like, and i'm *very* fussy about phones....

Re: N95 8GB or E71?

I now own both an N95 8Gb and E71 and I can honestly say I love the E71.

Once you get some decent themes loaded and all the apps on such as Google maps, google search etc it's amazing.

I purchased this because I wanted the keyboard for MSN messenger, e-mails and text, I've always had phones with normal keypads, now I have the E71 I have a true mobiles communications device.

The Bluetooth profile is far superior, I can now see contacts in my Parrot 3200 where as this wouldn't work with the N95 8gb.

Got to say though, both amazing phones. N95 has better camera, E71 is a better communication device.

Also the E71 battery last a lot longer then my N95 and feels a lot more solid in the hand.

Bluetooth stack is the same on both phones. Both are S60V3 FP1

Maybe you didn't have up to date firmware on your N95?

Re: N95 8GB or E71?

I had the latest firmware available on 3, it may have been an issue with the Parrot itself though.

Re: N95 8GB or E71?

I own both the phones, N95 8GB and the E71, also had the E90 before I got the 95 8gb.

The choice is easy, in fact, there's none at all. E71 all the way.

Much much better phone, build quality is better, the OS seems to work faster than the N95, probably more free RAM as well and can take cards that the 8GB can't.

Keyboard is fantastic. The first time I put my SIM in from the N95 I thought the screen was on a smaller side - It is in terms of size (2.4 vs/ 2.8) but I think the landscape feel is much better than the portrait type of the N95.

I also had the E61 before the E90 and this phone just doesn't compare. It's more lighter, faster and the keyboard is good. It's more pocketable than all the other phones I've mentioned.

I do a lot of web on the phone and the screen is certainly better than the N95 and probably the E90 as well. (you don't need to open it up every time)

Although I'll be in the market to sell my N95 soon, all I can say is, this is much better. Let me take the hit on my N95 now
