K850i discontinued by 02

Dont know if this is old news, but after having received a replacement K850i from O2 a fotnight ago, I had it 4 days before the keys fell off, so having returned it once again, I was told I would have to pick a different phone as it had been discontinued due to the amount of returns. The phones they offered werent very impressive so they have let me pay £50 to upgrade to the c902 without it affecting my contract date which is april next year

It's discontinued on Orange and other networks, as well as by retailers too.

Awful phone and a clear example of the problems SE are going through. This was one of the worst phones they have ever made, not helped by the fact that on paper it had the potential to be one of the best.

SE are going down the pan rapidly, this is a good example of this.

Re: K850i discontinued by 02

I managed to go through 4 of them, the last of which went back to o2 on Friday....

I have been told today by a customer service bod at o2 that the problem wasn't anything to do with the handsets but the sim card. Apparently I was using a 2G sim and should have been a 3G sim which they admit was their fault..... How true it is - I have no idea but she was adament that none of the handsets were faulty and if only someone had studied my account a bit harder I wouldn't have had all the problems I did have.

Kind regards,

Vikki

This is very true. I have been researching handsets for my next phone and have "played" with quite a few. Sadly even some of the newer SonyEricsson phones showed problems in the few minutes I played with them. And with Sony having apparently disagreements with Ericsson, falling market share and pdisappointing reviews of new handsets it may be that they will undergo a shake up in the next year or so. I do hope so.
