Problems with w890i
I've had the phone for four months now.
It's only done this twice, the second time being last night. The phone completely resets for (seemingly) no reason and on the back of the phone, near to the Sony Ericsson sign, a red light appears and stays on until you have to manually take the battery out (the on/off button doesn't do anything).
I have never found a use, or any other way of getting this red light up!? The phone does boot up fine afterwards though.
Also, my keys seem to be sticking a lot, from the directional buttons to the bottom keys, I often have to press the same button twice or even three times before any action happens.
So, has anyone experienced either of these? And do you think I should see if I can return the phone for a replacement with Orange, or are the problems not serious enough? (I have Orange Care insurance).

Re: Problems with w890i
It does the same on mine too - I'm expecting it to fail completely sometime soon.

Re: Problems with w890i
Is there anything in the manual? I haven't looked yet.
It also tends to stall and takes a while to respond...

Re: Problems with w890i
Other issues with the 890i that I have found.
Problem 1.
If I am listening to the radio and someone calls me then the radio cuts and the ring signal comes through the headphones and telephone speaker. No problems there. But, if I am listening to the mp3 player and someone calls me, the mp3 player goes quiet, but no ring signal in the headphones or through the telephone speaker. So if I do not have the earphones in my ears, i miss the call.. strange.
Problem 2.
The calendar alarm sound cannot be changed or raise the volume. It makes one pathetic sound and that's it. I have missed appointments because of this and according to SE this cannot be rectified.
Problem 3.
Example. I have a meeting booked for 8am in the calendar and set the warning tone for one hour before so I have time to get up and go to work. If I then set the alarm to sound at 7am, the pathetic meeting warning tone will sound and put the alarm on snooze without sounding.

Re: Problems with w890i
I have had exactly the same problem with the phone freezing and then shutting down with a red light coming on at the back. It is so frustrating and I am onto my 3rd W890i now! With the first one it was happening every couple of days and with the 1st replacement it was happening 5 or 6 times a day, in the middle of phone calls, sometimes it would shut down then reboot itself, then shut down again straight away! It seems to be when im sending quite a long text or I get a text writing a text, almost as if it can't keep up so just shuts down instead.
I've just recieved my 2nd replacement today from orange, which I have already had problems with, not the same fault though, this time the most reception I get is one bar, if I go to send a text or make a call then I loose reception all together, have tried sim card in a another phone and it works fine with full reception. Very annoying, so have been back on to Orange who carried out diagnostic tests or something and am awaiting a call back to arrange a new model as I'm sick to the back teeth of the W890i!!!

Re: Problems with w890i
Yeah I've had the signal problem too...
constantly jumping between 1 bar and 5 bars. Sometimes when inside buildings it will loose connection completely for up to 1/2hr. For some reason, I'm jus too laid back and cba to complain to Orange lol.

Re: Problems with w890i
ive had this phone since april and it has now decided to completly die! It always turns itself on and off, no signal ever! and freezes. I just rang phones for u and im taking it for repair tomorrow, but i know they will send it back saying nothing wrong with it or they will give me another, do i have to accept the same model of phone or can i ask for a different model?
