Orange Best Plan

hi all,

If i choose to switch my plan to a lower one to save money as part of this best plan thing, will anything be affected other then the service and price? will my contract run out as it should in 4 months? or will it extended?

Re: Orange Best Plan

Your contract will stay the same.

The best plan option is one of Orange's systems that looks at your last 6 months usage. It doesn't effect anything.

Re: Orange Best Plan

Do you have to be at least six months into your contract before you can change plan then? I want to go to one which is £5 a month cheaper as I'm just not using the minutes I have...

(I'm only 3-4 months in atm)

No, the Best Plan option only comes in after 6 months.

Other wise you have to wait until you are half way through your current contract until you can change your plan to a lower one. For example if you're in an 18 month contract you cant change to a lower plan until month 9.

It's Orange's migration policy. Put in place ages ago as loads of people used to get the higher talkplans so they could have the high end phones, then next month phone up and drop their talkplan down to the cheapest one, which in turn lost Orange a lot of money. Sensible really, but a lot of people moan about it.

Re: Orange Best Plan

Yeah I see where Orange are coming from tbh.

I am slightly confused with what you said though, I'm on an 18 month contract, so do I have to wait until 9 months? Or use best plan after 6 months? (do I choose this, or them?)

Thanks

If you get a Best Plan offer after the 6 months then take that. If you got the contract indirectly (anywhere other than Orange) you wont get a best plan offer and will have to wait the full 9 months.

When your Best Plan is ready you should be notified via a text message or on your bill. You then call up and they tell you what the best plan for you is and you decide wether or not to take it.
