Re: nokia 6220 classic
Hi Doofus,
Tempted by it myself, had a look at one in a shop and had a play and liked it, camera looked sharp and I quite liked the design. Front is more plastic than the back so I think it is down to personal preference on design.
Let me know if you do manage to get one and what you think of it

Re: nokia 6220 classic
I've been quite tempted by the 6220 as a possible replacement for my K800i but opinions on the mobile-review.com forums are mixed. Photos seem quite reasonable but seems to suffer from flimsy construction which is off putting, as i love the fact my K800i is tough as nails even if it is a bit of a brick. Hopefully build quality might improve with later batches...

Re: nokia 6220 classic
If it uses the same 890 mah battery as the 6120 , then i'll strongly advise against as it could barely power it for a full day - excellent phone, but woefully inadequate battery.

Re: nokia 6220 classic
Nice phone, 5mp camera just like on both n95's and the n82. Has the lens cover too, which the 8gb n95 lacks. Keypad isn't the best of builds but the device is very light and feels good in your hand. If no one you know has one, drop into a Nokia store and test one out for yourself before deciding. I doubt network stores will have any live handsets but you can try...

Re: nokia 6220 classic
Anyone know what the GPS reception is like?
I plan to get one from dialaphone with the free 19" HDTV deal.

Re: nokia 6220 classic
The only issue i have with nokia right now is the way it utilises symbian. In effect the 6220 is the same as all the other symbians, just in a different case. Personally id ignore the 6220 and go for the N82 with is also free on many contracts these days. Its basically the same phone, better built.

Build quality, or more specifically the horrible design, of the N82 really put me off it. It's an over engineered brick and the colour is very unpleasant. Also, the 6220c has Feature Pack 2, which adds quite a large number of improves and fixes to the Symbian OS. The Quality of the 6220c is not amazing, but its not that bad and has a proper keypad, rather than the crap things Nokia have used on the N82 and new N78.
I'm becoming much more of a utilitarian as i get older. All i want is calls, texts, email ok photo/video, light web browsing and GPS. I can throw the 6220c in my pock and forget about it. I rarely ever listen to music or watch video and cant be bothered with crappy apps that are nice to fiddle with for a month but dont help me. And why on earth would i need WiFi? especially with the crappy Symbian OS.
Also, i got the phone from dialaphone on the deal i wanted plus a free HDTV (last year i had an iPod classic from them).
Overall, the 6220c really suits me and fits my needs. Symbian is a bit lame and is undeveloped compared to iPhone and Windows mobile, which are far better mobile OS's, but i cant be arsed with it all these days!

Re: nokia 6220 classic
Nice phone works well used it for a few hours on nokia maps today sat nav works fine. Battery life seems very good after using GPS for a few hours watching a few videos on you tube also made quite a few calls as I use the phone for work. Does seem a little plasticly but I can live with that as its a light weight good looking phone unlike the N95. Marks out of 10 so far 9.5

Re: nokia 6220 classic
Hi I also like the look of this phone but how good is the gps I mean I assume you can use it for driving directions?
Also do you have to pay extra for the maps?
I have been using tom tom on my old spv 500 but took me down a bridle way again tonight for the 3rd bloody time if I had another phone the spv would be by the road side in Wigan now
Thanks

Yes I use it for driving directions the gps signal is exelent much better than my tom tom. You get a free trial of nokia maps wich lasts 3 months dunno how much it costs after that. I think there is free software that you can use if you dont want to pay.

Thanks.
I got one on saturday via dialaphone and quidco saving £165 on a 12 month contract.
Not had a great deal of time to play with the maps but they look ok.The phones a bit plasticky and the keypad doesnt feel great but on the whole a good phone.
