Get the N95 8GB or wait for the N96

Need some help, I've had my N95 for the last 18 months so you can amagine that it's in a pretty bad way. Really enjoyed the phone it's been great.

Well my contract's not up till August but checking online today it's given me the option to upgrade, so called T-Mobile and they will do me a free N95 8GB for free on a upgrade. Not sure what to do, get the 8GB and when the N96 comes out sell the 8GB and put the rest of the money towards the N96 or shall I wait till Sept/Nov time for the N96.

Let me know what you think please, really not sure what I'm going to do..

I'm in the same situation with my K800I. My work mate got the Nokia phone for £135 in Kenya. A return trip maybe... I don't know what to do either.

Yeah that's what they said. I'm on Flex 50 with Web and Walk. Monthly bills are around £70 a month and been with them for about 5 years.

I thought this phone wasn't out on T-Mobile yet? I don't think it's up on their website or anything. Are you sure i' not just the N95 with 8GB memory card?

That's what I first thought, but no, it's not. They have stopped doing the N95 with the 8Gb memory card so she said. Not on their website either. The lady from T-Mobile who I spoke to on the phone said it was out on the 25th May.

No it's not on their website. I'm going into town this afternoon, I think I'll pop into the T-Mobile shop and ask.

Re: Get the N95 8GB or wait for the N96

The N95 8GB was supposed to be released on Monday on T-Mobile but when I rang up to upgrade I was told to ring back later in the week as it had been delayed.

Oh right Flext 50. I can see why your getting it for free now. Im still on Relax 35 plan at the moment but will be changing it to Combi 35 18 months.

But i think i still will get hit with £150-£200 quid for that phone which im not going to pay. But lets see what the offer is during this week..

I did ask if I could pick it up in Watford, but they haven't got any in stock.

How much you paying for that tariff if you don't mind me asking. Have a look at the Flex ones, far as I'm concerned the best tariff out there at the moment.

Re: Get the N95 8GB or wait for the N96

Both plans are £35 a month. The Relax tariff is no longer avialable and you get 800 mins and unlimited texts with Combi 35, more than enough for me.

Might Actually take the Combi 30 plan with 600 mins, which is about what i would use in a month..

Re: Get the N95 8GB or wait for the N96

Ok sorted. Just been on to T-mob and im getting the phone tomorrow.

Its on Combi 30. Thats 18 month contract with 600 mins and unlimited texts. And it has cost me £80 for the phone.

I dont mind paying anything under £100 for the phone, but i think anything over £100 is a bit too much.

They said i could have the phone for £60 on Combi 35 plan. But i dont think anyone is going to do that to save £20 quid as you will save a lot more by taking the cheaper plan..

So looks like i got mysef a new toy to play with. YEE HAAA:

Excellent, when I got mind she said they have sold loads over the last couple of days, and the guy in the T-Mobile shop I know he said they sold out in a day. Didn't think they would be so popular.

Looking forward in having a play with mine tomorrow, hope if turns up before I go to work.

Re: Get the N95 8GB or wait for the N96

I'm with T-Mobile, on Flext 35 with a 25 per cent discount (so £26 a month), and just called them. I was told I would have to pay £160 for the N95 8GB, or lose my discount and pay £60.

Seeing as losing the discount added up to an expense of £162 over the contract, I questioned the maths. I also questioned why I should pay when I could go to another network paying the £35 a month and get the phone free. I was told there was nothing they could do, but to ring back in a few weeks to see if the situation had changed their end.

That's exactly what I'll do - I'm not paying £160 for a phone, and I'm certainly not losing my discount and effectively paying more than £220 for it.

I think it kind of started out that way (why that model, whether I'd thought about any others), but I made it clear from the start I wouldn't be upgrading to anything else today, so it went no further.

Ignoring my double post and bringing back this thread (seemed silly to start a new one), how sympathetic do people think T-Mobile will be to my wants when I tell them I'm seriously considering departing for O2 and the new iPhone?
