Anyone used "redemption"?

Anyone used a company like e2save before? Are they legit?

They have a deal on with O2 and its around 200 mins/200 txts with a phone and its 99p a month after redemption for 12 months. How can that deal be legit? Whos making money off it??? They also have deals on more modern phones which seem to good to be true.

Even if I throw the phone away and use my old one, its still way better than Vodafone could offer me on a renewal.

The redemption process seems a bit long winded but doable. Do they rely on people not bothering?

So, anyone used these or other "redemption" type deals before? Any problems?

Re: Anyone used "redemption"?

As far as I am aware, e2save are a legit company, but that is not to say that they are any good, as I have not used them. There is a thread on http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.html?f=14 entitled "e2save problem" with over 1600 posts if you are interested. There are more threads on there about other mobile companies too, so it may be a good place to start.

A lot of the companies offering cashback schemes on mobiles attach fairly restrictive rules in terms of timescales in which to send your bills in to them, and rely on people forgetting to send them in. From what I have read, if you send your bill in too early or too late then you forfeit the rest of your cashback for the remainder of the contract! This is where they make their money....

However, some companies are better than others. My advice would be to delve deeply into the terms of the cashback offer before you sign up, and just be extremely organised in sending your bills in (by recorded delivery, of course)!

Re: Anyone used "redemption"?

I can really recommend Dial a Phone had no problems so far with claiming my cashback

In fact the 1st time i misread when to send my bill in and sent it a month early but a few days later i got my bill back with a letter explaining this. So i sent it of the following month and all went through fine. They even send you a text to say they have received your bill and are processing the claim

If you do get one from dial a phone send me a message so i can give you my number for the reccommend a friends

Re: Anyone used "redemption"?

I'm on my second court case for E2Save redemption offers.

First one, refused to pay, small claims, settled out of court & paid.
Second one, refused to pay, small claims, settled out of court, waiting to be paid.

They do pay up ...... but expect to take them to court to get it!
They make money by refusing to pay and hoping you don't bother to take them to court.
(They usually claim you have not sent the redemption voucher in at the right time)
There are 93 pages on moneysavingforum of them refusing to pay in the last year alone.

Re: Anyone used "redemption"?

Heh, sounds like a right farce.

Personally I'd avoid these independent companies like the plague, as they all have some way of screwing you after you've fallen for their attractive offers.

Re: Anyone used "redemption"?

Even though those redemption offers are good deals, but I would try to avoid them to save all the hassles.

Re: Anyone used "redemption"?

e2save are a CarPhoneWarehouse company, but sadly without the CPW customer service quality. Far too many bad reports dotted around the internet from unhappy customers.

Re: Anyone used "redemption"?

I'm just coming to the end of an 18m contract with Onstopphoneshop - also a CPW subsidiary.
No problems with any cashbacks yet but you MUST do exactly what it says in the redemption details that they send you. Eg I get 30 days from invoice date to send in the claim form. Invoice usually arrives on about 10th of month. I send off copy within a couple of days and the cheque arrives about 10 days later. My son has also had no problems but he has to send Original bill so make sure you read all the small print and stick to it.
Do that & you get a very good deal.

Re: Anyone used "redemption"?

Another vote for Dial a Phone, nice little text message to let you know they are processing the claim, and a cheque 2 days later.

Excellent service

Rick
