N95 Navigation - locating GPS position speed?

Hey all,

I've had a N95 for a couple months now and have installed Garmin XT on it (which I recommend greatly). For those who own a N95, I was just wondering how long your phone takes to locate your own GPS position. I've found the fastest way is to use the GPS data tool to locate my position and then open the navigations software - this takes as short as 30 seconds to as long as 5 minutes - all in good weather conditions, open space and with the phone slid open at a 45 degrees angle as recommended in the manual. It just seems to take so long to connect on most occasions. Anyone experiencing the same, any tips, opinions? All appreciated.

Thanks

Re: N95 Navigation - locating GPS position speed?

but this isn't to do with Garmin's software, Nokia's own 'Maps' software or better still, the GPS data tool on the N95 take ages to detect your GPS position

I guess it'll take a while for smart phones to catch up with dedicated GPS devices. I wonder if the N96 will be any better
