Help needed my son has taken his vodafone mobile to the usa and i need to know how to text him I have had conflicting information from vodafone, their web site tells me just to text his uk number and their advice service tells me to add the international dialing code and take the first zero off his uk number any advice please

I belive that you should text to his uk number in international format so you should text to "+447....." Take off the 0. So for example if you wanted to text to 07854547 you would text to "+447854547"

I would try taking away 0 an add the +44 it will deffnetly get there then!

Both will work and you will see no difference.

But its a good idea to store all your numbers in international format (+44) because:

a) It works in this country
b) It will still work if you should ever go abroad in the future.

thanks guys i have used both methods and i guess one of them must have got through especially as i have been charged for both. My lazy son has probabally not bothered to look at his phone.
