N95 or viewty

Looking to get a new mobile on 3 or Tmobile (due to good net browsing packages). Looking at these 2 phones, swaying towards the viewty, figured the larger screen will be better for browsing. Main uses will be browsing, but need something reliable as receive all my work via mobile, any advice??

Re: N95 or viewty

If it is strictly down to these two phones, then it would be the N95 every day of the week and on a month of Sundays. I just didn't like the Viewty after receiving it as an upgrade from 3

Re: N95 or viewty

Def not Iphone, already got an ipod, seems v. pricey just for the browsing. Re the N95, heard a lot about unstable OS, is this true?

Re: N95 or viewty

The latest firmware apparently has fixed alot of the issues. Are you looking at the 8Gb model or the regular model?

Re: N95 or viewty

These are the 2 mobiles i'm considering. Looks like i'll be heading for the Viewty after a few of my mates saying the N95 has a lot of OS issues and the slider not working properly after a few months.

Still will propably try them both out (again) in store before i buy.

Re: N95 or viewty

I would def take the N95 over the Viewty.
had both phones but sold the viewty after 5 days, terrible phone, could not write 1 text message without the wrong key being pressed at least once, touch screen is not responsive enough for text messaging.
Excellent camera on both phones though.

Re: N95 or viewty

I have my N95 about 14 months now, the V21 firmware is rock solid. My advice is to get the original N95 from T-mobile on a web'n'walk plus tarriff. You can configure your phone to use Push email with Emoze so your emails will arrive instantly no matter where you are.
Also, you can use your N95 as a modem with a laptop, if you are in a 3G area you can have up to 3gb a month usage.
Only issue I have with the N95 is the battery life, I gotta charge mines at least once a day.
I love the unlimited software expandability of the N95, something you just don't get on a Viewty or Iphone.

Re: N95 or viewty

i've owned both an N95 and a Viewty (now have an iPhone, beats both combined).

The N95 wins hands down.
Very easy to use, quick, excellent camera and video recording, firmware upgradeable, stereo speakers, WiFi, proper OS.
A couple of niggles, the battery life can be a bit hit and miss. The built in Sat Nav takes far too long to get a lock, never used it practically, always used the sat nav in the car.

The Viewty, loverly touchscreen, as *a phone*, pretty easy to navigate and use.
On the downside: Crap battery life, poor camera and video i thought, esp for a 5mp with a supposedly decent lens. Navigating the phone with the camera shutter as a "clickwheel" is a bit crap.

Re: N95 or viewty

Depends what you want, a smart phone or just a phone really.

I have the viewty, had it for a week now and love it, does everything i want and i can navigate it quick as anything, texts are no problems and the camera is decent enough for me.

The N95 that my friends have seems slow to me, dont know if its where they have a lot of rubbish installed but it just seems slow and sluggish, the gprs that i experienced on it was totally crap IMO.

I suggest testing either phone out before purchase TBH.

As i said it depends what you want in a phone really, smart phone or standard phone with a cam.

Good luck
